Stiff keyboard Yesterday a fujitsu man re-installed the 'synaptics' driver thingy to stop my mousepad being so jumpy and sensitive. Today though, my keyboard keeps missing letters out and have to hit the keys relly hard in order to get the letters out. Or maybe it's just slow. Nearly as frustrating as the mousepad problem. Help!

I think it isn't that the keyboard is stiff, it's that it's just too slow now. If I type slower (painfully slowly) then all the letters do come out but I can't believe that the mousepad sensitivity should also affect the keyboard - can that really be the case?

SOURCE: zd8000 keyboard is skipping letters and spaces

Hey I have an HP zd8000 also and I've experienced everything that you guys mentioned. What's a laptop without a battery if you can't take it anywhere? After two years, I got so frustrated. I researched HP's web site and came across a battery recall. I just got mines in the mail today (Dec. 1, 2008), and my notebook is portable again! :D They will ask for your battery serial number. While typing the serial number be sure not to mix up the letter 'B' with the number '8', or else it will show as invalid serial. This is the link for the HP Battery Replacement Program!

I hope this solves your problem!

Did you try the following.
Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud

I just had windows 7 installed on my laptop, now my mousepad won't scroll. how do i fix this?

Hello

you probably haven't installed the touch-pad driver yet. go to the computer manufacturers website and look for the touch-pad driver that is specific to your laptop

Also I would say that it is a setting in your control panel if you have used any other mice or install another mouse drivers it may have affected you touch pad. I would suggest looking at the synaptic setting and see if there is an option to set the touch pad to default settings. If all else fails you can try to reinstall the synaptic drivers from the laptop support site. I hope this helps.

My mouse does not works properly/ it works slow, cursor makes little jumps, movement not smooth. Laptop samsung R40

Are you using it on a mousepad? If not, that is probably why you are getting jumpy and erratic movement. Put a mousepad underneath the mouse and you should see the cursor movement improve.

You can also adjust the mouse properties such as speed and control by going into the Control Panel and opening the Mouse applet.

Do you have the correct Dynex driver installed? If not, go to the Dynex website and download the driver for your mouse. Having the wrong driver (or a generic driver) can make a difference in performance sometimes.

Hope one (or all) of those solutions helps!

Mousepad not working

Hello,

Each Touchbad should have basic functionality by default in every Operating system, letting it be used even when no driver is installed. However, try pressing FN and F7 together and see if the touchpad works again. Some people accidently press this FN + F7 key when they mute the sound with the FN + F8 key.

The FN + F7 is there to disable/enable the touchpad as some people use a USB mouse instead of the touchpad.

If you still need the drivers, here are the download links. Please choose desired driver by Operating system and Touchpad brand...

I cannot get my mousepad to scroll

I am assuming here that all the functions of your touchpad are working correctly, and all you can't do is scroll.

Often times the Synaptics controler, which is the controler and the driver for the touchpad, will get corrupted, de-activated or will just stop working. The easiest thing to try would be to download the synaptics drivers from the support section of you computer manufacturer's website, then go to your control panel, select add and remove programs, find Synaptics in the list and uninstall it. Then you can go ahead and install the drivers you just downloaded. This usually fix the problem 80% of the time. If you provide your computer maker and model I can even send a link to download the drivers.

Is there a switch to cut computer pad off to use cordless mouse

Usually you can turn off the notebook's mouse pad via its driver. You can find it (usually) in Control Panel. For example, Dell PC's Synaptics mousepad applet is accessible from the Synaptics logo in the Advanced configuration of the Mouse applet.

Otherwise, you'll have to check where the driver program is (Synaptics, one of the most diffused brands, places it under Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP. In there, you'll find "Device Selection" and a checkbox saying, "Disable touchpad if an external mouse is detected".

Other touchpad devices may be turned off by finding their driver program (using e.g. Process Explorer by SysInternals) and terminating it. Accupad is one of these; I believe it was mounted on Toshibas.

Driver for Synaptics TouchPad on Fujitsu Lifebook S6120.

Just been to Fujitsu site and located your model in driver downloads. It appears that yours is an Alps Touchpad. When the list of drivers appears you need to use the scroll bar within the window in order to see the touchpad driver download.
