We have a colby tv and when the power goes out we can't get it to turn on. This also happens when we unplug it. There is no picture or sound but the little blue light on the front is bright which

The first suggestion is to throw the Colby TV in the dumpster and purchase this instead https://www.samsclub.com/sams/55-uhd-smart-120mr-3-hdmi/prod21220862.ip?xid=plp:product:1:4

The blue "standby" light is on, however the TV will not turn on. More than likely there is a faulty power supply board, or video driver board. It will cost you more in random parts (if you can even find them) than it would to simply replace with a higher quality TV.

Now your other comments "when the power goes out we can't get it to turn on. This also happens when we unplug it."
Yeah, I hate when that happens. Sort of like the roof only leaks when it rains, or sometimes, when my eyes are closed, I can't see.

I hope this helps!

Can i connect my Sharp flatscreen tv to my wifi

Ron, in order to connect your TV to your home network, it will need an network interface. A network interface can be either a wired network jack on the TV itself, or a built in wireless capability (WiFi). You didn't provide the model number of your particular Sharp TV, so I can't tell you if your TV offers this connectivity or not.

Even if your TV offers wired or wireless connectivity, some TVs only allow network access to update firmware or to display "still" JPEG or GIF images; not to stream audio or video. The TV will need to have some sort of player to display or play video and / or audio files. Even then, if the TV is not fairly new enough, it may lack the support for newer file formats - such as .MKV, MPEG, etc. that are used for a large number of HD content.

You can get around this hurdle by connecting a newer computer to the TV. Purchase a wireless keyboard & mouse and connect the computer's video card to the TV so that it will appear as a monitor to the computer. Make sure your get a video card in the computer that will provide a digital video output - (HDMI, DVI, etc.) and a cable that can plug into one of the unused A/V inputs on the TV. If using a cable other then HDMI, you'll need to provide a cable between the computer's audio output and the TV's audio input. Use the computer's network interface to download or stream a program directly to your 55 inch "monitor".

I hope this helps - good luck!

Color is misaligned on our philips sspp9401 rear projection tv how do you adjust it?

Your problem is called CONVERGENCE. Look at the manual and you will find some commands on your remote that will automatically adjust the convergence to make the picture sharp. If that does not work, your television is unfortunately, in all probability...toast. Replacing the amps will cost what you would probably spend on a new TV. At the cost of flat screens today, you should jettison that old Phillips and break down to get an LCD flatscreen. Good luck. I have the EXACT SAME 55 inch TV...and LOVED IT...but at 700 to fix it...I donated it to a church and took the write off.

What do you need to do in order to hear the TV through the DVD-925 System?

For the best TV-related sound, connect the audio from the unnamed source (not necessarily the TV) directly to the Colby's Aux In.

If you believe the sound benfeits from the TV's electronics, run the unnamed TV's possible audio output to the AUX In and configure the TV to put out a Fixed level of audio so you can turn its volume down and not lose it to the Colby. (page 11)

Toshiba 52 inch flatscreen

I have just completed removing tha base from a Toshiba 52 inch HDTV. There are 5 screws in total. Three about 8 inches form the base and another 2 about 4 inches from the base in the arrangement shown below

(X) is a screw
(l) center line

X X X 3 screws 8 inches from base
X l X 2 screws 4 inches from base
______l______ The base

Keep your feet clear as your undoing the last screw..the base slides out vertically downward and weighs about 10-15 pounds so keep your the toes, fingers etc safe. The risk of being sued may explain why Toshiba didn't this publish in the US manual.
