I have the answer. I just used my Jack Juicer for the 1st time. There was no manual, but included was an orange handled tool. You insert the tool into the 2 holes opposite each other located at the bottom of the wire mesh. Turn the basket counterclockwise while holding the tool. Shirl

I had the same problem and figured out an easy way to open it without the tool. DO NOT take out the screws. I simply used chop sticks. I put one in each small hole and held the chop sticks in an X and turned the top counterclockwise!

You can donwnload a manual (pdf) from http://www.powerjuicer.com/pdf/classic.pdf

Or you can view a video - Power Juicer Assembly, by following this link http://www.powerjuicer.com/customer-manuals-video1.html

PS - the video is shown for the Deluxe model but same procedures apply to the Classic

My juicer did not come with a manual but it did come w/ two tools. One is a brush to clean the blade and filter and the other is a tool to remove the blade from the base. The tool to remove the blade is a small half-moon shaped handle w/ two pegs that fit into the two holes in the blade. If you insert the tool into the holes, hold the outer rim of the filter in place and turn the blade counter clockwise, it will come right out. I don't use the brush because I just put all of these things in the dishwasher.

Ok, same situaition here. What we are asking is, how do you clean the portion under the metal grater, where all the juice goes? Does this get cleaned? Do you have to take the 3 little screws out? If someone would be kind enough to scan and post the user manual somewhere that would be fantastic! Post the location on this forum.
Thanks!
Paul

Ok, figured it out. I went ahead and took the 3 little screws out and noticed that you can unscrew the entire blade assembly without taking those screws out. But you need the right tool. Notice the 2 little holes in the blade, you need to stick something in them (I just stuck my screwdriver in one of them) and turn the blade counterclockwise while holding the rim of the metal mesh deal. It should losen up and you can take it all the way apart from there to clean the insides, which definately need cleaning. Good luck.

We can Fix your problem.

There is a Piece that came with your power juicer. It looks like an "ORANGE-Slice"
with two small-metal pieces sticking out from each end. These two metal pieces
fit perfectly in the two holes seen on the face of the grinder.
Hold the edges and twist left the grinder, lifts up, the orange rimmed strainer lifts up
as does the white nossel-piece. WALA.... wash...... dry ......replace pieces. Enjoy!

You pull the metal thigy away from the spout until it swings away, then you can disassemble it.

Very easy and simple to remove the blade. You just need to insert something into the two holes on the blade to be able to turn it - anything strong that will fit into those two holes, so you can turn the blade. I use two metal kebab skewers, and one time used the handle of my son's plastic paint brushes! Insert into two holes on top of blade, turn counterclockwise to loosen, then remove blade. Remove filter basket, then the receptacle. There is a demonstration on YouTube how to clean Power Juicer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDJkOPt5SPk

I just take it apart and run it under water and scrub the parts clean. I think you can put them in the dishwasher but I don't, I just clean and put it away as soon as I am finished with it.

You can also look the manual up online and print it out.

Hi, I was having the same trouble, on how to take the basket filter thing out, I tried to unscrew them but it didn't work, so don't unscrew it and put in something that will fit in one hole, in my case I used a thin scissors I had.... Hold the basket so it won't spin, and turn it clockwise... It wasn't working at first because it was so tight, so if ur doing the same and won't turn then it's because it's really tight and you just have to use force... To loosen it up, and then u can take all the pieces out and wash them, except the bottom part ( the motor) just wipe clean....;) Good luck...

Okay, Suewags23, your answer to the problem was not helpful in any way. I think Nappy1 was asking HOW TO TAKE IT APART TO CLEAN. I am having the same problem. Love the way the product after using for the first time, but mine did not come with a manual either. Oh, and again, Suewags23, your second little tip did not help either. I've been googling "manuals" for the product for half an hour now, and this post is the best it can come up with. I am assuming that nobody in their right mind would build a machine for conveinience and then make you use a screw driver to take apart and clean. There has to be a way to take the top portion off of the base, but I cannot figure out how. Is there a part you have to click? Turn it a certain way?? I've tried pulling and twisting at the same time, etc... it won't come off. Anybody know how to take the top portion off?

Need to take apart to clean ,cant find manual

If yours is the "express" you can download it off a website. Google search, "Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer OWNER'S MANUAL."
My model was different and needed this stupid little "crescent wrench." Not a normal crescent wrench, but a crescent moon shaped handle with two little knob things sticking out that fit into the two holes in the top of the blade. It screwed counter-clockwise until parts all came out for cleaning.
(hint: I never toss my owner's manual, but I couldn't find it anywhere until I saw on the box that it said it came with a recipe book. I went to my recipe book cabinet, and there was the owner's manual - in the recipe book.)
Good luck.

Need an instruction manual for Jack Lalanne Power Juicer?

This picture looks like the Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer "Express." You can google search "owner's manual" for it and download it.
