I havnt turned it back on since the problem arose, was turned on for 2 hours or so, then i noticed a really loud high pitch squeal, i pulled it from the power point and noticed some smoke, took the back panel off and it looks to be a small blue disc (like a small capacitor) has shattered and lots of black scorch marks, it also seems as though something was leaking ontop of it, there is a 4 port box above it that the 3 crt tubes plug into with the red wires and flat plugs, do they leak? Has anyone else had this problem? thank you and i look forward to a reply
The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

You should first turn off all the color on the set, or play a b&w Tape or dvd. What were looking for here is, what the color balance or grey scale looks like first. If a B&w video or whatever looks true to grey and black and white then you have whats called croma problem in the color or video demodulator. My friend I wish there was an easy way to assist you in this type of repair but theres not, as it could be a problem in the video/croma demod section of the video jungle IC and this is not a user serviceable part or repair as thers several issues concerning Hi voltage as well as x ray radiation. Now if its a problem where the grey scale or the B&W is not true to color then theres a problem in the R G B driver circuits. Could be a simple drive adjustment or even a soft or weak picture tube. I hope if your not a tech you seek a pro to assist you in this troubleshooting as this could be dangerous for you as there are no user serviceable parts inside this set. Good Luck

If the lamp has been replaced I would think the Lamp ballast would be most likliest followed by the color wheel and then the Digital board. You can get any part needed for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com just leave them a email they respond quickly.

Sounds like the ballast has gone out. Samsung recommends replacing the smps board(power supply board) when you replace the ballast because it is the smps that takes out the ballast. replacing just the ballast ,machine may work ok for a short time but will destroy the new ballast fairly quickly.

It is definitely a fan, the one that blows on the covergence unit. I would not recommend you do this repair yourself. But that is definitely the issue. Let me know if you need the information for a local repair person in your area, just reply with your zip code.
