Bosch cordless drill not working.

I have a Bosch PSB18 Li-2 Cordless drill. Both batteries are charged, but when I pull the trigger nothing happens. The white light and three greens flash four times. Any ideas? Temperatures are normal. Both batteries do the same. Used to work beautifully.

HI my Bosch PSB 18 LI-2 has stopped working. while it was in use I noticed a small amount of smoke come from the drill, then the drill stopped! When I pull the trigger the light comes on as does the battery charge indicator. What could be wrong? would it be the brushes?

First The model is pretty new. you need to register your tool on line. this takes you from a one year warranty to a three year warranty. They will give you a pro-vantage number. with that said it sounds like a trigger switch. Yhe trigger switch is the brain of your tool. not only does it do your variable speed but it also controlls the brake and your fuel gauge. Because of the cost I highly recomend taking it to your closes Bosch service center.

SOURCE: I can hear a high pitched noise when I pull the trigger but it doesn't turn. The light on the front still works and I have swapped batteries and they all don't work in this gun, but they work

Couple of questions?
Is out of warranty? In the UK Bosch is 3 years
Is the direction control in mid way? Have you tried both directions?
My best guess if all these fail is the motor pinion is stripped.
Go online, download a partslist from the Bosch website and see if you can locate the item. It may be worth a dealer look at it, it may not. If you have a pal who's competant to open it and deduce whats wrong for the price of a beer, go this route.

PBS 18 li-2 bosch cordless drill lights on but no power.

You are sure the battery is charged OK? Bosch Li-Ion drills have a feature whereby they stop working when the battery is low but not discharged right out. This is to extend the battery life as it does not like being flattened altogether.

This happens quite suddenly, from one press of the trigger to the next. It can make you think the drill is faulty.

If the battery charge is OK, then maybe
- trigger faulty
- motor burnout
- broken contact on battery or in drill battery shoe

Just bought a cordless Dewalt drill. Charged the battery, popped it on, drill will not start. What am I missing?

Dewalts have a lot of issues. Take it back quick to where you bought it and buy a Milwaukee.

I have a Bosch 36v LI cordless drill the batteries are fully charged. However, when I pull the trigger, it starts briefly and then shuts down almost acting as though It's batteries are dead. I have...

One possibility is that the trigger on your drill has a short in it. When you replaced the brushes did you clean off your commutator? I am assuming that you did. You only need to clean the brush dust off of it and ensure the copper contacts are clean. Your issue is definitely with your drill. I am not sure about Bosch but with some drills you can take apart the trigger and check for contamination. Hope this helps.

How to use hand drills?

Use of both is the same:
- loosen "chuck" (part where bit is installed).
- insert bit (hand tighen chuck so that bit is secured)
- tighten chuck securely with chuck tool, or by holding rotating chuck with hand and pulling trigger (GENTLY or you will shave off skin!)
- put drill in forward or reverse mode and pull trigger to inser or remove screw / drill hole.

ensure that battery is charged on cordless drilll.
squeeze connectors to remove and place in charger when battery is too low to operate drill.
