The printer is not meant to use multi-copy carbon invoices. The cause of your problem is the double-feed prevention pad below the paper pickup roller. When the first form is fed, the double feed prevention pad will stop multiple paper feeds. With multi-page carbons, the paper feed roller is trying to feed the form, and is pulling the top page of the form into the feed rollers while the double-feed prevention pad is stopping the bottom form from feeding and the top and bottom pages are sliding because of the carbon paper between the sheets. The only solution that I know of is to buy a printer with a tractor feed and pre-printed fan-fold forms with tractor feed strips on the sides of the forms.

Sounds as if the format is wrong. You must set the paper format in the PC wordprocessor or invoicing software to the same size as the actual paper size of the invoice.

Hello, Please, if you can change back to the former operating, is either the printer type is not compactable with the new windows(Windows7). But first you have to check the net to see if you can try upgrading the software of the printer. Please if you've done this let me know what happened next.

Had paper jam, clear the paper and now there is a loud crunching sound and the printer will not print at all

sounds like you have paper jammed in the gears , send printer to repair they will probably take it apart and clear the paper , then the gears have to be working OK

I have 4 part invoices printing on my Epson LX300+ and even with a new ribbon I can hrdly read print. Any ideas?

try adjusting paper density lever at the left side of cartridge mounting.
This makes head move closer / farther with the paper.

How to set half half size paper

Look for a latch on the right side tractor drive. This will unlock it so you can slide it sideways on its rail. Set it approximately where it should be, load the paper, then adjust it so you have a slight amount of tension across the paper. I think the rest is software.

Paper size..

In WIN98 with WordPerfect9 we had set up dot matrix printer Epson LQ1050 on which to print 8.5" wide by 5.5" long (half page) multipart invoices. In XP apparently MSFT changed this and there is no custom paper size in windows printers. Instead one must use the program's (Word Perfect) page setup where the page size can be entered. Problem is the Epson drivers have not been rewritten to incorporate this change. The optional paper sizes are builtin to the printer drivers. Some folks with the same situation as you have had success using the Forms menu in MS Fax to set different paper sizes. Third party programs such as FinePrint (www.fineprint.com) can also help with this. I hope you work it out ;]
