The wash cycle starts and begins filling with water but then stops and gives error message E61 on the control panel, then when trying the drain and spin cycle it starts draining and then stops and shows E66 on th4e control panel.

This is a Toshiba Model No. AW-D2001S washing machine, 9.5 kg, top loading, made in 1999

  • mike602 Dec 28, 2008

I don't think it has a heater, it's a cold water washer, only uses 535 watts, so doubt it has a heater. The error code of E61 comes on after a couple minutes of beginning to fill with water and then stops. Only a quart or so of water. To drain that water out, when setting the cycle for drain and spin, it starts draining the water and then stops, showing the error code E66, taking several trys of start and stop before finally getting that little water out. During both these cycles there is no action from the motor, but this maybe because there wasn't enough time into the cycle for the motor to kick in. I've checked the motor and it looks in good condition no opens or shorts in the windings. The drain and spin cycle never gets to the spin as its only on for about a minute before it stops with the error code on the control panel. The Toshiba service man just came and took one look and said the machine is to old (8yrs) and you can't get parts from Toshiba anymore, never even opened the top to look at it. It seems the younger technician just want to replace new parts and want you to buy a new machine if those aren't available any more instead of trying to see what exactly the problem is and if can be fixed with replacing components. That is what I'm hoping to find out by this error code message which may pin-point the problem. Can you find out what these codes mean? The machine is in very good condition, everything looking almost new.

Can you tell me what make this machine is? As it sounds like a heater problem??

  • Anonymous Dec 28, 2008

Ok its sounds like you have more than one problem!! The first sounds like a heating problem or that the machine is over filling with water! When the machine starts to spin does all the water get drained out?

  • Anonymous Dec 28, 2008

Hi, I think you could be a little confused! Your machine is yes a cold fill but it will require a heater to heat the water for the washing powder to activate and remove the dirt... I will have a look at toshiba web site and try and get some information on your parts. I would not be surprised that the parts could be obsolete as 8 years old is now old for a washing machine..

Can you tell me what error code E12 is on a Bosch vision 300 washer?

I am not quit sure if my answer will help you, but I am going to tell you the cycle

The unit fills to whatever water level you choose to use
.
After reaching the water level the the wash begins, after 20 or 30 minutes of washing it needs to drain the soapy water. The drain pump turn on draining the water, after draining the unit fill back up to the settings and or sprays water while doing the draining and spinning to remove as much dirty water as possible from the first wash. After the first draining, fills back up again for the final rinse and the final drain

The symptom you are describing, here tell me, that issue is with the drain valve, drain hose, the sewer, or is a big possibility that there is is a sock or woman garment stuck in inside holding the rotor causing the water not drain inside the water valve, if the sensors are not sensing the opening of the pressure switch after the first fill. it will not continue This units lately has been added many sensors the only thing this unit doesn't has is the ability to speak but if using common sense you can get to the part that needs to be replace. You need to read and understand the wash cycle first.

It has an F1 error code. It will start the water flow for about 2 seconds. Stops and beeps f1 on the screen. I hit the stop button and start again and have to repeat this 3 times before the wash machine...

The manufacturer has issued a remedy for the F-1. What you do is empty the machine of water and unplug it. Open the control panel and remove the pressure hose. Blow out the hose to remove sediment . Re secure it to the control and retry. No parts needed. F-1 Error infothemobilian_1223.jpg

My frigidaire front load washer will start a wash, complete the first cycle but then stop and flash all the lights and beep continously until I press "start" or "cancel". If I press "start" again it just...

Hello there:
If your cycle does not complete or The cycle doesn't advance
When the cycle should advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. than check the cold water supply line and the filter

Washer starts to fill then stops /now warsher wont wash

I too was having the same problem and I almost paid to have it repaired, which would have cost a few hundred dollars, thanfully I called the recall line after reading some of the other post on here and my machine was elgible for a upgraded on the control panel so didn' t cost anything for us. Sears told us that the F1 code is a miscommunication in the control panel, basically the machine is confused and don't know what to do so it stops and gives that code. Hope it helps!

Stops in the middle of wash cycle

Hi!

If the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:
It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.
It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.
Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Washer keeps filling w/ water, only stops when changed to spin

Your drain line is too low.
OR the drain line is restricting air where it enters the drain stand pipe.
Remove the drain line and hold it up high.
Turn the washer on to fill. It should fill then stop.
This example should explain what you must do to correct the drain line problem.

Washer won't stop filling with water

In yor machine control panel you have A part called a pressure switch or water level switch. that controls the water level and tells the timer to start aggitating .If the part is bad the machine will over fill and keep running the water!!
