Put the lowest power eyepiece in the telescope-- that's the one with the LARGEST number on it.

Go outside and practice focusing on a distant object at least 100 yards away-- turn the focus knob slowly.

Remove the black plastic piece from the diagonal. Insert the eyepiece directly in the diagonal. You do not need the spacer.

We purchased a 78-5880 North Star for our son for Christmas. I have skimmed the manual, but the family wants to dive in and begin using. They are wanting to take it back because they have been unable to...

Usually there is a setting in the hand controller to adjust brightness. Make sure the batteries are FRESH and new. Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the diagonal. DO NOT use the 2x barlow if you have one.

I am having problems viewing

All astronomical telescopes show upside down images. There is no up or down in space. To ERECT the image would take additional GLASS lenses. MORE glass means less light pass-through for those dim sky objects.

I cant see anything in my telescope i never have been able to and it also moves alot down it the adjustment pane it is the bushnell 78-9930

Shaky tripod is why you never buy this telescope brand.

Put the eyepice with the largest number written on it into the telescope. DO NOT use the 2xbarlow if you have one. Go outside duringg the daytime and practice focusing on a distant object.

Bushnell 700x76

Just got a 78-8831 and set it up according to instructions. After inserting lens into eyepiece, I can't see anything at all. Dont worry, I've removed the front cap from the the main telescope.

Something leads to believe I'm either missing something real fundamental or my telescope is broken. Please help
