I have a three year old Westinghouse 32 inch flat screen lcd ready TV. It would run very well then go blank. Most of the time you could turn the TV off for a short period of time and it would come back on and work fine. Some times for days and days and some times for minutes. It went blank yesterday and now even turning on and off it won't respond.
Westinghouse LTV-32w1
replace capacitor c162 on power supply
power supply was a delta electric dps210ep-2c rev01
reheat any solder joints that don't look 100% as well .
such as c310 .
this is a known working fix . try before you buy a supply .
i have the same problem with the westinghouse 32 inch. We should all write to them so They should be responsible and either help pay or fixed this problem. too many people had the same problem. We should tell them we will not ever purchase their product again! which I havent. I bought a Sharp and Samsung.
Our ONE year old Westinghouse flat panel has the exact same problem. This should not happen in a TV this new. How to find a Westinghouse repair service?
bkdg....YOU are the man! Replaced C162 and works like a dream...a $3 fix...plus have 2 extra capacitors! Thanks a bunch!
@bkdg100 I replaced c162 but unfortunately the problem still happens here and there. Didn't see any other connections that are visibly damaged. Any other advice about other capacitors that might be the culprit, or how to test?
can you tell me where you buy the c162 capacitors. I search on ebay. but I really don't know which is fit? can you give me the link. please.
FYI , c162 is the location of the part not the value of the capacitor , you must read the value off the capacitor .
I see. the capacitors show KY 35V 680UF M105C 5(7) 5D. size is 12.5x 20mm. I can find any seller they sell those capacitor. can you help me if you find the link. please. I don't want to buy a new TV.
search this: 35V 680UF
alot in ebay. size can't found 12.5MMX20MM...do I have to find the one match the KY. what is KY Mean? just the Series or not?
you are over thinking it , 35v 680u or as close to it as you can find , ky series is just low impedence / long life , for use in power supplies . the height with is not critical , as long as the lead spacing will allow soldering to board . you can probably find similar caps inside of and old power supplies . dimension do not need to be exactly the same ..
ok. I got it. thanks
replaced c162. the power light show blue. but the screen is black. nothing on the screen. and I really don't know is that the power supply has a problem? should I spend 88 dollars to buy the new power supply?
if you have reheated all solder joints and replaced cap , i would not spend any more effort or monet on a 32" tv .

I had the exact same problem and I fixed my Westinghouse 32 inch by replacing the power supply. You can purchase it at
http://www.partstore.com/Part/Westinghouse+Digital+Electroni/Westinghouse+Digital/4900211680/New.aspx?ModelMfgName=Westinghouse+Digital+Electroni&ModelBrandName=Westinghouse+Digital&ModelNumber=LTV32W1
I takes about 15 minutest to replace. Just take the back lower panel off and replace the power supply. Mine works like new now.
I had the same problem and changed the power supply all fixed. Power supply part number is DPS-210EP-2C and can be bought at http://www.moduslinkptstvboards.com/DPS-210EP-2C-P9987.aspx for around 60 dollars.

For those interested I repaired my powersupply by going over the connections with fresh solder. All of the main lugs of the transformer ect. Unfortunately now I have a problem with thick blue lines on the screen, but I think that means the LCD is bad.
I replaced c162, first try is fail. second time it look like is ok. the display wake. but after 20 minutes, it screen shut again. that mean the problem is not on the Capacitor.
I replaced power supply for same symptoms no luck.......
I fixed this issue by replacing capacitor C162 on power supply...works great so far!

I have exactly the same problem with my three year old Westinghouse 32 inch flat screen TV. It worked fine and every once in a while it would go black. I could shut it off or unplug it and it would come back on and work fine. Then it started happening more frequently and finally it would not come back on at all. I would like to get it fixed, but, fear the cost to fix it would be more than buying a new TV; if I can find someone to fix it in the first place.
I can confirm this fix. Thanks for the link, too.
Only my TV is less then a year old. Sad tht a person can pay over a thousand dollars for something and not have it work less then a year later.
That link is now outdated. But you can find replacement parts for Westinghouse LTV32W! here:http://www.partstore.com/Model/Westingho...
