Hi all, my 18 month old FDW60 has developed an error not described in the handbook. After turning it on selecting a program and pressing start it begins to make all the right noises, but after 10 seconds it beeps and the 'eco' light starts flashing, whilst continuing to make all of the right noises, but that is all it does because no water enters.Can anybody help. Thanks
I had this problem and discovered it was due to a leak. The float switch attached to the bottom panel was operating. Pull out the mains plug, tip the machine on it's side (water will escape so get a mop ready), remove the bottom panel, 3 screws front and back, disconnect the connector from the float switch. Tape the connecter up out of the way and stand your machine back up. Try running it now. If you have a leak somewhere then you will get a puddle under the machine. If no leak, then I would suspect the float switch itself.
After the flashing Eco light and refusal to do anything apart from run the pump..
I placed my dishwasher on its side and then righted it again after half an hour, it's now working again!
I have also had the two flashing lights in the past as well, solved by running dishwasher empty with a bottle of dishwasher cleaner.
Just want to say Thanks for saving me £90 and loads of time. 'Eco' light was flashing and discovered lower spray arm had become obstructed by cutlery slipping down through the basket during the cycle, and had come off. Fixed the arm back on okay but flashing continued. Tried the above solution but didn't even have to take the bottom panel off, Hubby just tipped the machine over and all the water came out of the base. Put it back up and tried it and it's fixed! Easy.

I love the internet! Had the same prob... Disconected the water in-pipe, tipped backwards for about 1 minute, had quick panic as I had totally forgotten to get towels to clear up the obvious amounts of water that were about to flood out. And hey presto, all working again. So dish washer fixed and dishes done all before wifey gets out of bed... Brownie Points!!!
Exactly the same issue, tipped the dishwasher forward and mopped the floor. Started the dishwasher and it worked perfectly, my only issue is do I let my wife know how easy it was to fix or do I get extra praise for making out it was a more complex issue
Didn't tip the unit forward, did think about making out it was hard work but got brownie points in anycase, the waste pipe was blocked full of 2yrs roasting fat so flushed through with a baster full of hot water to draw the excess water through from the bottom of the dishwasher. Genius. worked a treat, the eco and fast error lights both went out and normal service resumed.

I'd just like to say that I had exactly the same problem after my kitchen was flooded by the storms and in 5 mins....hey presto....it's working again. Thankyou very much for putting your expertise onto this page. It's saved me a shed load of money (not to mention washing up which I truly detest!)
I just wanted to add also that I followed the instructions here as I had the same problem and my dishwasher is working again! The only difference is, I tipped it back and just a trickle of water came out, so I moved the towels and tipped it forward instead which did the trick, however for some reason the water flooded out the back anyway which meant a quick switch of the towels again! But, thanks everyone who posted!
Tipping the machine on outside and drying the base after removing solved this problem.
It worked for me two. Put it on its side for 10 mins and it worked! Thanks so much!
Thankyou thank you thank you for this post eco was flashing and beeping draining but nothing else read this post pulled out dishwasher layed it ok it’s side for a few minutes turned it back on and yay it’s working old post still helping in 2019

In my case it was the pressure sensor on the side of the short hose between the main (circulatory) pump and the bottom jet arm (which spins inside the machine)
Remove it and test resistance on terminals while blowing into the tube.
There is another pressure sensor on a hose attached to the waste assembly but appeared to be working correctly.
first make sure you have water going in , then if you d have water the next thing the water valve needs to be located , it will have a hose going into it and a hose coming out of it and two wires on it , when the dial is set to fill with water you should have 120 voilts on the two wires , if you hve th epoawer then the water valve is not workingthis is a easy fix and cheep aso same valve is used on washers , get back to me after you have done some more research

Same problem and I tried disconnecting the floater switch but then it started OK and 20 seconds in it clicked and stopped - no flashing lights, just the prewash light still on and silence. 30 seconds later it beeps and continues to beep every 5 seconds or so, still doing nothing. Any ideas?
Eco light was flashing, followed Stevecon's advice, thanks for that.
Problem now is that after it appeared to be fine, started making a noise like a coffee perculator, the macine stopped and then both Eco and Fast lights started flahing. Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Hi, Have English version of machine and had eco light flashing. Read stevecon's advice and tipped machine up to empty water out - BINGO all working fine - thanks so much - saved me a fortune!!!
Well I can't believe it! I had the same problem of the eco button flashing. You turn dishwasher on thinking it will start but with a beep the eco button flashes and it makes a grinding noise. Well I pulled out the dishwasher, secured the lower water arm that had come unwound. Tipped machine on side. This caused a little water to come out. Hey presto the machine is working perfectly! Thanks so much to the other messages because it saved me so much money, time and extra washing up!

Brilliant guys I thought jump to the net and see what this issue was, my daughter put a big spoon in and blocked the arm I never noticed. Got the flashing Eco light, found your advice and hey presto it worked. Note keep mop and bucket handt :)
For me hardly any water came out, and mine is an integrated model so was slightly worried when I had to remove the kickboard and undo a couple of fixing screws to pull the dishwasher forward. But alls well that ends well as this advice worked perfectly.
Brilliant! Thank you! worked on my Kogan Freestanding dishwasher. I only left on tilt for about 5 minutes. (Too heavy for me!) Returned to upright and started first go!
