My Acer AX1430-UD30P emits one short beep after power on - then does nothing
I power on my computer, and the power button lights up blue. And then a single short beep is emitted. Then, nothing happens. My monitor never sees anything (using the HDMI port to display on my Samsung HD TV).
I just purchased this computer from Fry's (Irving, Tx) yesterday. I spent yesterday afternoon and evening setting it up for my wife to use in the living room. It primarily is used to play Pandora music.
It was working fine when we shut off the TV last night (leaving on the computer). However, when we turned on the TV just now (afternoon), nothing was on the screen and we could not get the computer to wake up, assuming it was sleeping. I held the power button for 5 seconds and it shut off. I then waited 10 seconds before hitting the power button to turn it on. That's when I see the button turn blue, and then I get a very short quick beep and nothing happens.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Request you to try following the below steps which might help:
(1)Turn off the computer.
(2)Remove all the external peripherals like AC Adaptor, flash drives, battery, etc.
(3)Press and hold the power button for 30sec which releases the static on the computer (if any)
(4)Put back the battery and plug in the AC Adaptor.
(5)Let the computer charge for some time.
Now check and let me know if there are any status lights and if the computer still beeps. If yes, observe what type of beeps are emitted from the computer.
When the computer will not boot up, it sound like it is booting as
the CPU fan is running and the lights are on. It also finds the CD ROM
but it won't boot from a CD either.
Sometimes when you have a computer black screen on startup and the power switch light will be green and then turns to orange or amber. Everything is running.
Everything seems to be running but you can't see anything on the
screen, not even a flashing cursor. Your black screen in Windows has
occurred before the Windows logo screen:
1- adapter or video card
2-RAM
3-and Black screen on startup with an amber flashing light
Not enough power getting to the motherboard.
A dead power supply.
A bent pin or shorted out USB port causing a problem.
I'm not understanding what it is you are trying to say,it sounds like you are trying to describe two problems.
Projector won't flash? Are you saying nothing displays on the Screen?
And what just shows blue blink on it's power button the computer?
Blinks and Beeps tell the technician what is wrong with your system. Notice how many times it blinks and where the blinks are long or short. There is a pattern to to blinks for example (3 short blinks or 1 long blink followed by 2 short blinks).
I'm going to assume your system has a memory chip problem and when you press the power button it just blinks and nothing ever happens, not posting on the lcd screen at all.
Remove the Power Cord, Remove the Battery, Turn the laptop over and Remove the screw that secures the Memory Cover and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.
Your memory chips must be had i that sounds like a chip problem under the laptop secured by two screws will be where the chip lodged pull it out and re-enter it might go it might not but that your problem I am sure of it.

You can also try the following methods.

Remove the memory from the Motherboard. Note on the locks!
Clean the memory contacts with an eraser yes that's right a rubber Pencil eraser.
It should be shiny gold.
