Recently my Whirlpool Duet front load washer (a little over 3 years old) has started giving me trouble about 50% of the time. After a few minutes, the wash cycle will stop and the error message will flash and beep. (error d 11) Sometimes I can cancel, sometimes I have to unplug the machine and start over.
Sometimes I press cancel, the error message goes away and I try to get it to continue the cycle by pressing start. Rather than make the usual loud "I'm locking the door now" sound, when I press start, it makes a barely audible "I'm trying but it's not working" sort of clicking noise. When this happens, I know it won't restart. It's only after I completely cancel the cycle, open and close the door, that it will sometimes restart and run to completion.
