There's no cool air coming into the freezer or refrigerator sections. as soon as it starts there is a clicking sound and it stops. what's the problem? the fan works at the back. i've cleaned all the coils below. thanks

I have Whirlpool Mark I series . Came with the
Good day,
That isthe compressor not starting. Remove the back cover and inspect the compressor.
There is a cover on the side of the compressor, that contains the starting components for the compressor.
They, include the overload, the start relay, and on some models a start/run capacitor.
These components can be taken to an appliance parts house. They are usually more than happy to tset them,
If any test bad, replace. If they test O.K.
Then your compressor has failed, and would require calling a qualified refrigerator tech.
My experience is ........
The Mark series of Whirlpool rarely had the compressor last 15 years.

Mark I Series fridge not freezing
Please list the complete model number found inside the refrigerator on on the door frame. With the model number I will be able to help you better. If your refrigerator is an older model then with what you described could possibly be a defrost timer gone bad. Let me know what you find, Thanks,Sea Breeze
