Dryer T712W - Sensor not accurate New Dryer. Problem since purchase. Sensor and "mother board" changed by authorized repair company. Sensor till inaccurate. It "cooks" my clothes.

    re Asko Dryer T712W
My dryer is drying. It just dries too long, According to Asko manual, the dryer should sense when to stop drying. It does not. It cooks my clothes if I dont open the door manually (which defeats the purpose of the sensor) Both thermostat and motherboard have been changed according to ASKO procedures. Still drying too long. For ex. a damp dishtowel shows 45 minutes to dry!
Dryer vent is only 12 in long to outside wall and installations was done by professionnal electrician.

Just called the authorized repair company to re-check what parts were changed : two thermostats and mainbord.

Its probably neither of those, its the timmer, Does it have one of those Turn Dials that you use to set it, or is it all electronic with buttons?

If its the later, then never mind.

On the turn style the timmer breaks and wont shut off and you can still hear the " TIC TIC TIC" even after opening the door.

If its electric display then its probably the temperature sensor. If its new, its under warranty and they need to come out and fix it, or get you a new one at no charge.

Or it could be like the other guy said, It could be a blocked lint/ heat vent, but usually this results in moist clothes and eventually pops a heating coil, but check anyways.

I would think the technician that worked on it would check for something that simple but hey, no ones perfect.

Pull the dryer out away from the wall. Unhook the vent from the dryer completely. Do not put anything over the dryer exhaust on the back of the dryer. Do a normal load with the vent unhooked. If it dries better or ok like this then the problem is in the dryer venting. Like a blocked vent pipe or a smashed or restricted vent hose.
- If the vent doesn't make a difference, then check the blower wheel for excessive lint build up, check that there isn't anything stuck to the air intake baffle inside the drum, (i.e. the screen on the back wall of the dryer when looking into the drum). Check the lint filter chute for blockage. Check that the heating element isn't shorted to ground. Check the exhaust temperature of the dryer. A meat orpocket thermometer can be used for this. It should cycle approx between 120 degrees and 160 degrees ( without clothes ). Check that the drum seals are not worn out.
if it over heats
t overheats Usually when an electric dryer overheats it's because of a defective cycling thermostat or a clogged vent system. Clean any lint from the internal and external ductwork, and/or replace the cycling thermostat (read about cycling thermostats in "Drying is too slow," above).

f your clothes get marked or torn in your dryer, check these:

Rollers
Rear seal
Front glides
Front seal
Rollers Your dryer may use rollers, or wheels, to support the rear of the clothes drum. When these are worn out, they may cause the clothes drum to drop down slightly, which can pinch the clothes between the top of the clothes drum and the rear of the dryer interior. When the rollers wear out, you need to replace the whole set.

Rear seal Your dryer may have a felt-like seal at the rear of the drum. If this seal is worn, torn, or missing, clothes can get caught and torn in the space between the clothes drum and the rear of the dryer interior. When the rear seal wears out, you need to replace it.

Front glides Your dryer probably uses nylon or plastic glides at the front of the clothes drum for support. When these are worn out, they may cause the clothes drum to drop down slightly, which can pinch the clothes between the top of the clothes drum and the front of the dryer interior. When the glides wear out, you need to replace them as a set.

Front seal Many dryers have a felt-like seal at the front of the drum. If this seal is worn, torn, or missing, the clothes in the dryer may get caught and torn in the space between the clothes drum and the front of the dryer interior. When the seal wears out, you need to replace it.
if the clothes smell to be burning out If you don't clean out the lint trap frequently, your dryer may have small lint fires inside the cabinet. The smell from these fires can leave a strong odor in the clothes drum.

Also, if there are any solvents, paints, lacquers, etc. in use in the house, your dryer may alter and/or amplify the fumes to an odor unlike the natural fumes given by the solvent, paint, etc.

Here's what to do:

  • First, clean all of the lint from the inside cabinet and ductwork of your dryer.

  • Have a qualified appliance repair technician inspect the dryer for damage caused by any lint fire.

  • Move all containers of flammable liquids at least 50 feet away from the dryer. Gas dryers have a large flame when operating properly and can ignite the fumes of any flammable liquid or gas.

  • Then, try to clear the odor, by running a couple of loads of old rags or towels.

The sensor is not that accurate in distributing heat. It needs to be replaced. It might have been cooked as well.

My Whirlpool Cabrio electric dryer model number WED6400SWI was not heating the air to dry my clothes, everything else was working normally. I had read all possible causes but called in a technician as I...

Unfortunately in the service world there are both unskilled and dishonest people. However, I would first call the service company and complain of the poor service, second call the #800 for service and complain about the service company they sent out. Third, the problem may originally been something as simple as a clogged vent. Did the dryer run feel warm/humid when you opened the door, buy clothes were still wet?

The right and down keypads are not working , what should i do ?

Hi, it is possible that the problem is with the mother board. So first try to open it, clean it from back to side, and you can use a blow dryer to take off any signs of moisture or condensation of sweat within. And if it still doesn't work, I think the problem can really be the mother board. The most ideal solution for this is the help from authorized service and mobile repairing shop. Hope this can help you, GoodLuck =)

If this is a new board, contact the store you purchased it from. You should be able to get a replacement if you just bought it and it hasn't been shorted out by something during installation.

If they will not take it back, use the return instructions on instructions that came with the board to get an RMA (Return Material Authorization) number. This will be your company approved authorization to return the board.

If it's an old board, it's probably time to upgrade or try to get a good replacement if your processor is still good.

My Sony WEGA kv-32" TV

The "D" board is the main circuit board assembly containing most of the set's power and deflection circuitry. It's the board that typically causes most of the problems because there's so much on it. Unfortunately, this board is no longer available from Sony as a part, and must be repaired to the component level. Many shops don't want to (or can't) get into that depth of repair, so they quote a high price on board replacement. There is no single part you could order to repair this board yourself, I'm afraid. There are some companies in the business of repairing boards, but you're still looking at $200 to $300. With the price of a 32-inch LCD set now around $300 to $400, there's no point in trying to fix a TV when it's just a few dollars more for replacement.

Feel your pain. Unplug wait a minute then plug in. Hopefully it will help. This is what I had to do. Don't know why this works at times...or at least buy us some time. I will never buy another LG product. No one wants to work on them or knows how. I'm on the 3rd mother board of my dryer, purchased dryer in 2006. First mother board it came with....shot...called LG, they sent me with some yahoos that replaced it with a refurbished mother board. Was under warranty until it expired, and guess what. That one needed replaced. Got a new mother board(3rd one in it now)....same problem is starting again. Worked great since 2007 after #3 was put in until now. If it needs #4 mother board eventually.....may just need to buy a whole new dryer and it won't be an LG. Got to get something that repairmen know what to do with. I hope unplugging it solves your problem, otherwise, I'm so sorry. I have the DLE2514W......(the W represents the color, white)

NEED TO REPLACE LITHIUM ION BATTERY ON GE MAC 1200,

I just replaced the mother board battery myself. You can buy the battery ( A panasonic 3v) from ebay for about 4$. To replace the mother board battery I did it without the soldering Iron, as I feared damaging the circuitry. THe new battery works fine. My solution requires you to have a mac 1200 that is not being picked up alot because I just put a new battery where the old one was. The old battery is soldered in place, I broke that with plyers.
