Vivitek RP56HD22A 56" HD DLP TV. When the TV is turned on the picture stays on for about 30 secs and the TV then cycles off and then back on. It does this repeatedly. Picture quality when it does come up is still very good, it just won't stay on. I've reseated the lamp which looks good. Cleaned the filter. Cooling fan seems to be working fine. Trying to determine if it's the ballast or power module. What do you think? Rick, Virginia

Most probably its the issue of short power module in the unit.get it repaired.if not possible needs to be replaced to resolve the problem.

The components gets heated up on the board so this is happening so it is necessary to get the board chevcked.it could also happen due to loose soldering.dry soldering the whole board can also help.

I have a 61" samsung dlp. It worked fine

Start with replacing the lamp. Then move on to the Ballast. Then the color wheel. Then the Power Supply. One of those parts should fix it. If not call back.

Vivitek 56 inch dlp projection is humming. why and how to fix

In my experience, the humming means your color wheel is going. The bearings inside the wheel are probably giving out.
My Vivitek started humming a couple of months ago and first I replaced the lamp.
Still hummed.
I read in other forums that humming is linked to color wheels and that seemed like where the noise was coming from.
I purchased a new wheel online and replaced it myself...
..no more humming, the picture is great and now I can listen to the movie again...not the tv!
