This is a problem is usually on your Y sustain board. There are two adjustments for this in which an Oscilloscope is nessesary for the alignment. However, there are two other things that can cause this also. This is beyond your abilities if your not a tech. Sorry for the news, It's not a major repair but should be done by a qualified tech.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Let's try the easy one first. Check your signal source, your cable or aerial. White dots could be "snow" indicating low incoming TV signal level. The increasing number could be indicative of a worsening cable condition. If it were so, you may want to try and check your aerial or consult your cable TV provider.

Alternately, it can be RFI (radio frequency interference). Pls verify that there are no other electrical devices are plug in to the same outlet/line that could cause this such as wireless phone, lamp dimmers, electronic ballast, radio clock and others.

if it were something else internal to the TV such as a weakening or faulty tuner block/assy, then pls post back the exact model number of the Samsung TV.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Sounds like a the Screen is on it's way out. That's normally a sign of burnt out Pixels. If it's under warranty I'd send it back and have it looked at or replaced.

You need to provide details about the model number of your tv .

How old is your tv ?

Have you tried hard reset .

Hard reset : Unplug the TV from power chord for about 30 minutes and plug back the power chord to the tv .

White Dots : It is due to faulty capacitor . The capacitor is not discharging properly.

Have Samsung D L P42 in ---problem white dots on screen

A DLP type set (any brand or model) uses a optical light engine= dots means a problem with the optical engine usually caused by the heat from the lamp affecting the lens unit or the engine itself---seen some with as many as 100 dots--engine would have to be replaced and they start at about 600+ or more.

White spots are just emerging on my 46inch

There seems to be an issue with your DMD board, which is the on in charge of the pixelation. What you can do to confirm if it's indeed the DMD board, is the following: GO to the menu on the TV and if the dots show in the menu, it's your DMD board, but if they don't the issue might be with one of your Video Boards.

Own a Samsung DLP TV 42 inch and white dots have

The random whit dots you are seeing is more than not the DMD or million little mirrors board. The white spots represent some of the mirrors that are sticking in the on position. In that case they are always reflecting white light from the lamp. I don't concider the DMD board a do it yourself repair since on the older DLP set it requires mechanical alignment as well. The best thing to do is contact a techincian and see what they might charge to repair the TV for you. Please take a few moments to rate my answer...Thanks..

White dots appearing on Samsung TV screen and multipling each day

It seems you might have an issue with the dmd board. Go to the menu, and if the dots still show on the menu, the issue definitely is with the dmd board but if they don't come up on the menu, the issue will be with the video board.

Hls 5065 samsung rear projection tv

This could actually be an issue with either your DMD board or your Video board. With the TV on, select your menu, if the white dots are still there, the issue will be with the DMD board, but if they don't appear on the menu, the issue would be with the Video board.
