Samsung CLP-300 - Cover Open error message, but covers are closed

We're getting an error message - "Cover Open" when all covers are closed,
and it won't print. Prior to this failure we'd been having "Paper Jam" error messages which were resolved easily by pulling out and reinserting the paper feeder tray.

Does anyone know where the sensors are for the covers, in the hope of bypassing them?

It's just 10 days over it's 1 year warranty period, and we'd hate to throw it out, as we've just bought new toner.

that's useful Mit - we're struggling to get the driver software - the Troubleshooting function to do anything - we've been told by Samsung that this should identify which cover it is, and it can also run through some checks, and "chat" to the printer to sort out it's issues!

I have to say we did a similar thing but maybe it didn't understand english, or we coulda been a bit harsh with some of the things we said....?

joking aside - do you have any experiences with the Troubleshooting software that could help?

Thanks for your advice so far.
    Kind Regards
    Tom

Front cover is on the right hand side, back is on the left hand side in the middle, and the top cover is like a little button on top. All the others are little openings.

I have a printer samsung clp 300 a problem occur while printing a diolog box is open and message is door open and then stop priting what the problem please tell me sir on my mail id i am very thankful for...

This is a sensor problem, the sensor is insite the printer and it needs to be disassamblied to change, you can try to press the front cover from left site and try then from right site and try, if it still work like this it needs adjustment only, if not the sensor need to be renewet by samsung!

I have a samsung clp 300 which goes through the motions of pre printing & then stops.the red button clicks on & off. I have reloaded drivers, this does not help either

According to the CLP-300N User's Guide page 42, the problem could be

"The waste toner container is not installated or full. Check the container."

Open the front cover, the waste toner container is on the far left side in "L" shape.

Gook luck!

Samsung CLP-300 'dev. home error'

Dev. Home error can be fixed by stretching out a solenoid spring on the power cord side of the printer. The solenoid acts as a clutch to stop the spinning developer actuator at the right spot.

The problem is that the spring gets weak over time / the cogs round out over time and the solenoid finger is overcome by the spinning cogs, and resulting in selecting the wrong developer.

Open up the right side (power cord side) of the printer (take off top cover, then take off side cover). Then, find a solenoid (little metal square) that touches the white plastic vertical spur gear. Take the spring off the solenoid. Now, put the spring back on - only this time you will attach one anchor point to the middle of the spring as to pre-stretch the spring for more tension.

Can not close the back cover

a Samsung tecahnician justed fixed it for me. The feeder (at the back cover) just in wrong position, turn it to the opposite way and he recommended that next time if the paper jam no need to open the back cover just turn the printer off and then turn it on, the paper will feed out. But it case you have done as he recommend and it still jam, open it would be possible. (the Feeder I'm not sure what it's call, it were 3 piece of black plastic)

Cannot close the back cover back.

when you open the back cover you will seee a metal ber with 4 grey roller on it. There are 2 black plastic bit spanning the rollers (2 each one spnas 2 rollers). these need to be pushed upwards so that the click up (the back of the plastic bits will push past the bar behind as the bar they are on flexes). once you have done this the cover will close. It only took me 2 days to figure it out....

No error message appears when there is pinter problems

the CLP 300 only have LED on the front panel of the printer. the color LED tells you what is happening with your ink cartridges. if all three or four LED flashing red. means paper jam of some other problem.
There is no software that you can monitor the status of the pirnter. even wit the network enable printer. (that is the Samsung's short coming).

sorry! that is all I can offer you. the good, the bad, and the ugly.

SAMSUNG CLP 500

The order iin which you open and close two of the covers is important, as there is an interlock between two of them. This can (and does) get damaged.

The toner access door is the first one you open, THEN the top cover (the one that gives access to the Transfer Belt and Drum.

Make sure the Drum unit is properly pushed into the printer, and that the Transfer Belt is lacated properly AND the two locking levers fot the Transfer Belt are in their locked positions PROPERLY.

THEN close top cover - you shouldn't need to force it.
Followed by the Toner access door.

Yes check the duplex door too !

If this fails it is likely to be a broken case part, or failed sensor.
