Hm, it may mean only one thing - something is not compatible with your PC, or, maybe there are some viruses on your PC or you don't have a file that would let you connect your officejet to PC... To be honest, I remember the case when a single app wasn't enough for connecting of my smartphone to my PC. Yeah, I've spent a lot of time searching for that app in the Internet, but I found a collection of useful apps from this site http://techforpc.xyz/, and, I guess, that you could find there the needed app too. Good luck :)

SOURCE: HP imaging device not found

Hi Ford 321

This is the first thing to do to clear all the printer history. Go to the bottom of the thread.

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Software-and/Unable-to-install-HP8500-drivers/m-p/17...

This is the second thing to do after you try to install and it tells you a section is missing from INF. There is probably a missing registery value for imaging device. It fixed my 309a issues. Great hardware-support a bit lacking.

I am able to print again but cannot scan . Can someone help me ? I have the disc and have uninstalled and re installed the program...

Since you have a USB connection, try a new USB cable or connecting to a different USB port. Make sure that you have the Epson utilities and drivers for your version of Windows 7 installed. (To check if you have the 32-bit or 64-bit OS, click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If the version title ends with x64, you have the 64-bit OS. Otherwise it's the 32-bit version.) You can find the drivers for printers from Epson.com. Click on the Drivers and Downloads tab at the top of the page. Then select your printer. (I've seen two versions of your request - one listed the printer as the ESP 3 and another added it was the 310. The only 310 all-in-one that I was listed at Epson was the Workforce 310. Please clarify this.)

If you installed a generic OS driver, you may only have a printer driver. Unplug your USB cable and uninstall this generic driver before attempting to install the Epson software. To launch scans by pressing the buttons on the scanner, you will need the Epson monitoring software running and the destinations for the buttons set up. Start your scans from your computer first.

Windows Fax and Scan and Paint are included in the Windows 7 software (except in the Starter version) and will acquire scans if the scanner driver is installed. Fax and Scan: New Scan. Paint: File > Import from Scanner or Camera > New Scan. Photo Gallery in the Windows Live software can also acquire scans. Trying one of these alternatives may give a better idea of what your error is.

Windows may not think a scanner is installed or a communication issue may be at fault.

I hope this helps.

After getting Windows 7 I can't use the scanner button on my F340 aqll in one and I can't figureout the scanner feature on Windows 7

It sounds like you installed the generic OS driver from Windows 7. This driver only works for the printer. (Alternatively, you do not have the monitor program running or the destinations set in the HP software.)

If you plugged in the data cable before installing the HP software, uninstall the printer (Devices and Printers) then disconnect the data cable (USB). Go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=1128309& and select your Win7 version (32- or 64-bit). Then click Next. Expand the section marked driver and download the Full Software. Install the software. Connect the data cable when prompted to do so. (Try a new USB cable since scanning requires bi-directional communication with the printer and can fail when the printer works). Avoid using a USB hub or print server.

If you do have the HP software installed, check that the monitor program is running (Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Adminstrative Tools > Component Services > Services.) The line for the HP monitor should say started. You may need to download and install the patches or the diagnostic utility from the above site to find a specific problem with the Win7 installation.

Next launch the HP software and attempt to scan from the computer. Next use the settings that give good results to program the defaults for the scan destination buttons. Now try to use the scan buttons on the all-in-one.

Once you have the HP drivers for both the printer and the scanner installed, the Windows 7 Fax and Scan and Paint programs should let you successfully scan from the computer. (New scan for fax and scan. File > Import from Camera or Scanner > New Scan for Paint.)

I hope this helps.

New computer has windows 7 - when trying to install printer I get an error message that it won't support the computer system

Perhaps you are using the wrong driver set. Download the driver from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3795406& . Use the drop down menu to select Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit then select Next. For best results get the Full Software from the section labeled Driver Product Installation Software. Then if needed, return to this page for the Updates to improve the reliability of the network connection and the scanned file storage.

If you use a print server, that unit may be incompatible with Windows 7. You don't need it with the 6500 (E709n if your router is Wireless 802.11 b/g compliant).

I hope this helps. We have the wide-format version of this printer on a wired network (3 Win7 machines). Our unit came with two CDs - only one was appropriate to our installation. The other wouldn't load.

Cindy Wells
(to check which version of Windows 7 you have, click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If you have x64 in the title get the 64-bit driver. The 64-bit OS requires signed drivers.)

I have a Dell laptop with Windows Vista and an hp officejet 4215v all-in-one. How do I get the fax and scan functions to work? I can print but not scan or fax. I am not at all computer literate. HELP

Hi,

First step is to know the version ( system type ) of your Dell Vista PC.
Click on START button
Right click on Computer and left Click on Properties
From the New Window Check for System Type : It will be mentioned as 32 bit operating system or 64 bit operating system. ( Remember this )

I assume you have not installed the complete software for your Printer.
Click on the link below to download the drivers for Vista O/s for the printer.
When the page is open - Choose the Operating system and click on Next Button.

Click on Drivers and Product installation option and click on HP Full Feature Software and Drivers
Click on Download button on top and click SAVE ( Remember the location you save the file )
You need to run the downloaded software.
Disconnect the USB Cable from printer before you start the installation as the screen will prompt you when you connect it.
Download Drivers

Hope this is helpful and will help you in installing the printer software and able to scan as well.

HP Officejet J5750 can't scan, fax from PC and no HP devices detected error

This issue is common with every HP scanning software used with Windows OS which have a firewall running.

If you would try the following:

- check the task bar if HP digital imaging monitor is up and running
- if not, go to C:\program files\hp\digital imaging\bin and double click the file HPQTRA08.EXE
- now the monitor should run
- if not, pls reinstall the software (*)
- if yes, pls try to open HP solution center

- if solution center starts, pls try to scan or to fax
- if successful, no other steps are required

- if faxing is not successful, check in the printer folder, if you find a HP <device name> series fax entry
- if you cannot find it, unplug the printer and delete the entries in both the printer folder and scanner folder
- also run the software CD and start the uninstall_l1.bat and uninstall_l2.bat in the util\CCC on the CD (if 64 bit OS, the run the 64 bit versions)
- restart the PC with the loaded CD
- replug the printer and let it be reinstalled

(*) For a clean reinstall it is recommended to contact HP support. They know the best way to leave a clean system on the PC.

Hope it helps.
