Neff B1432 2002 Element blown

I have removed the faulty element and replaced with a new one. Fitted the three electrical spade connections on, replaced back, door set timer and oven still not heating up. Fan works, control knobs come on, lights come on any ideas

I replaced a blown element with a new one that tested ok for continuity, but it still does not work. Fan ok and Thermostat ok. Is it possible for a new element to be unservicable even when it is not open circuit?

Did you check the old element with a multimeter to make sure it is in fact faulty?
check continuity across the thermostat as well

Why does it trip breaker?

Can often be just the element in the oven that has gone faulty. Try disconnecting the element (usually can be done from inside the front of the oven), isolate the spade connectors and then turn on. If it doesnt trip then you know it is the element. £10 or so on ebay gets you a new one

My oven keeps tripping the electric

It will be the ring element, short circuit. This is the element that runs around the fan behind the backplate in the oven. It can be replaced by isolating from the mains, remove the 4-6 screws hold the backplate on. remove the two screws on the element brabket and one screw holding the element in position at approx 4 o' clock. Be very careful removing the element at the bracket, ease it out very slolwly so as not to detach the spade connector and wiring. A replacement can be obtained from ebay, espares etc or neff direct via there website (link to spares shop). Make sure the wiring goes back on the new element as it came off the old one. Replace screws and backplate and it should be sorted.
Hope this helps

Hi, I have a Neff Double Oven (U1721N0GB/02). In the process of replacing the main oven element (which was clearly visibly faulty) I think I may have casued a short-sircuit / blown an in-line fuse. I have...

Did you replace the element from inside the oven cavity? If so, you may have knock off one of the spade connections whilst pulling the bracket through. Isolate from mains, remove back panel behind oven (not in the cavity) and check you don't have a wire floating about. The wires usually look quite similar but if you look closing they should have a black or red fleck in them, the element has two prongs on each side, you need to put the two the same colour on one side and the other single different colour on the other prong. If the fan is working then you have not blown the limiter that you will see quite close to the fan, but you might have blown the thermostat or the selector switch. If the red light comes on the fascia when you select the temp then it's pretty safe to assume the thermostat is ok. Hope this helps

Ijust replacedmy fan oven element and there was only tow prongs not three - do I need a different fitting?

No, the new element should have come with a sheet of paper with the solution on it. Basically the old element would have had a prong in the middle to connect the earth. You need to remove the back of the oven casing and put the spare connection on the spare spade on the fan motor. Obviously ensure that the unit is isolated from the mains power supply before removing the back case panel. Hope this helps.

Neff fan oven dead. Where do I look next? I've

this could all so be the timer For all Free appliance repair videos visit our VIDEOTUTORIALS Nefffan oven element video1, If the fan motor in the back of the oven is going round andthe temperature light is on (normally little red light), but there is no heatthen you will probably need a new oven element, these are generally very easyto fit and readily available from our website these can be tested with aelectric meter.
To gain access to the NEFF element you willhave to remove the back plate from inside the oven. Once removed you will seethe fan and element, if youlook closely at the element you willprobably see a small hole burnt in it where it has blown. Sometimes howeverthere is no evidence of a fault but the element is open circuit ie:broken inside the element casing, either way it will need replacing. Someelements will are fixed from inside the oven and some are held in place by nutsfrom the rear of the machine.
2, If your NEFF fanoven is getting warm but takes a very long time to cook or is burning the foodmore on one side than the other, then you need to check if your oven fan motor is working you willsee the blade turning fast if it is ok. if the element is heating but the fan motor is not blowing the heat into the oven thenyou need To replace the oven fan motor is a little moreexpensive and a bit more involved.
3. If you have the opposite problem ie: your oven is over heatingand burning everything then you will need to replace your NEFF oven thermostat
4, A quite common and easily overlooked answer is if your NEFF oven is not working at all ie: noheat and no fan then the chances are that someone has put the oven timer into AUTO mode, simply put oven back to MANUAL mode and all should be working again.
