Hello. I have a Bosch wfl12440 washing machine the drum fills with water on any cycle but then stops there is a clicking sound. water will drain but the drum does not spin. any ideas

SOURCE: bosch classixx 1200 express

Not a programme error but carbon brushes on motor.Fixed by local engineer.

If it won't fill it may not spin or drain unless the water level switch is bypassed. I would check the water valve & the water level switch and tube from level switch to tub must be air tight no holes.
The water level switch must kick in to agitate. I'm not sure on Bosch but some work like this..

It sounds like a snapped belt or a broken motor. Can you here the motor run? You can access the motor and the belt from the back of the machine. If it is the belt snapped, this is easy to replace yourself. If it is the motor, you will need a repair man.

No its the water censor located inside the machine is blocked,remove back cover you will find a small plastic pipe leading upwards,remove it and clean out the lug it came from with a ear bud or other un sharp device the pipe as well,gently blow into the pipe you should hear a clicking sound this is the water level indicator to the programmer to stop filling, replace it carry on washing eric992

My 2.5 year old Bosch Nexxtg 500 WFMC3301/UC washing machine fills then drains. Does not complete wash cycle. If I leave off for a couple of days it will fill then drum turns for awhile, but will not...
sounds like heater fault this will terminate program if no heat detected after a short time, hard water will make it worse unless you use a water softening agent.2.5 years for this is not unusual.

Sounds like the motor although nomally would run longer than 2 years...Did you have new motor fitted or just repair ie brush kit to motor....You could check the bely easy...7 years is very good life span for a machine ,,replacement may be best

To javed_iqb904, does the drum actually fill or does it seem like that water is draining out as it's filling?


To neonllama19, if it fills with the tap on and the machine off, it sounds like a defective water valve. If it never stopped filling it sounds like a defective pressure switch or hose to the pressure switch is loose or diconnected.

Isolate power and water supply and gain access to the main drum motor. Check for condition of carbon brushes by removing them and repla
ce if severely worn. Check wiring loom around motor and right back to module controller. The clicking is obviously power being supplied to motor via the loom to the motor. finally check for any dry solder joints or burnt areas on the circuit board controlling the motor.

Bosch classixx 1000 washing machine - stops on spin
Washing machine stops at the spin cycle - light flashes. Have to drain water out manually. Happened last week and was then able to run an empty rinse cycle. Machine worked normally for another week. Same problem today but have had to drain water manually from the drum after trying an empty 90 wash and rinse cycle (both stopped on the Spin and flashed). Any ideas? Thanks. x

Front load washing machine would not spin now won't wash either.
Sounds like you have a broken belt or a bad motor. The easiest way to tell if the belt is bad is to reach inside the drum and turn it. If it turns very easily, you probably have a bad belt or something has caused the belt to jump off, such a s a loose pulley or bad bearing. If it feels like there is a good amount of resistance, or a kind of "winding up" noise, then the belt is still on and you likely have a bad motor. Also, you could just scoot the macine out, unplug it, and remove the back cover a look inside to see if the belt is still on the pulleys. Good Luck!
