Whirlpool Oven will not light Model SF385PEE Help its Turkey time

Yes,
I have a Whirlpool gas stove that is about 12 years old, I had to replace the gas valve last week because it was leaking enough gas that you could smell it the gas company came out and verfied it was the gas valve. Stove now will not light I though I must have broke the igniter in the oven moving it around. So I have also replaced the igniter, still the oven igniter will not come on. Is there any special on this gas valve that needs to be turned on other than hooking up the gas and four wires. Thanks for your time in this matter. Thanksgiving is on it's way and the wife is not happy. I'm not ready to shoot the lock of the wallet for a new Stove.

GAS OVEN KNOB STUCK

The valve is 'seized'. Grease gets into them and over time turns acidic corroding the valve from the inside out. Replace the valve. Any appliance parts seller can get it for you. Turn off the gas before starting repairs!

My 3 year old barely used Whirlpool Gas Oven has stopped heating. The gas stove top still works. Whirlpool customer service told me to clean out the gas chamber with a pin...there's nothing TO cleanout....

Just had a repairman here today March 31, 2010 for the same problem. $350 repair bill. There was a short in the gas valve that cause it to go bad and it also blew out the ignitaion computer board. Forget about replacing the ignitor. I already did and that was not the problem. So the qauestion for you is pay for the repair or buy a new stove.

HI. this will be a EEPROM check-sum error code. Follow the instructions below to address this issue.

1. Disconnect power for at least 30 seconds.
2. Re-apply power and observe for at least one minute.
3. If code re-appears, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

Gas Range has inconsistent gas flow

From what you've described and what I understand; the only part that requlates the gas flow "low or intermitten gas flow/pressure" is the "gas pressure regulator" located where the incoming gas flex-line connects directly.

The pressure regulator is about 3" x 3" metal square blockish' type device and can be replaced fairly easy. However, if and when replacing the pressure regulator, ensure you are using the proper gas - yellow teflyon tape of pipe dope paste to thread in the new part.

What is the model number of the range? (free standing - gas pilot only)

(The above suggestion is assuming you have the proper gas supply pressure to your home/range)

Error code F3-E4 Whirlpool Electric Range RF388LXKQ

the solution that the recommended appliance reapir person told me for my whirlpool electric range oven not coming on and a display of E1 F1 was to replace the digital control center with new one for $425, this is after an $89 service call to just tell me what was wrong. Since the range cost only $645 I will probably instead learn to bake with the convection part of teh microwave /convection oven I got last year for $295, and hope the obsolescence engineer at whirlfool has a burnt thanksgiving turkey and fallen cakes. this problem w/ the oven not working occurred while I was on vacation and the power company had a light out problem in our neighborhood then I guess sent a power surge back on and did my six year old oven in. Should have kept my old simple gas range.
