I have a kenmore elite he3t front load washer. There is something, a screw, a pebble maby under the drum and when it spins it sounds awful. How can I get my washer apart so I can get to it. Do I have to take the top off, or go in from th rear. There does not seem to be any way to get to it from the front.
I have what sounds like a ball bearing rolling around behind the drum. It sounds awful when the washer is on the spin cycle. I have checked the vanes and to see if there is something loose to have created the ability for something to get behind the drum. I can't find a problem, so the next step is to remove the drum to see what is rolling around. The drum spins freely and I feel as if I am playing roulette hearing the ball roll around. What is the easiest way to dismantle the washer?
Strangely enough, I found the problem to be in the motor. If the noise becomes pronounced during the high speed spin cycle, then that is the problem. I had a repairman out for mine and they wanted to replace the drum, however when I took off the back and removed the belt, I could turn the drum separate from the motor and could hear that the problem was in the motor bearing, not the drum. Hope this helps.
