Canan powerhot a400 mallfunctions

LCD and then no images, at first I thought it was from a low battery, but not so...I lost ALL my pix and have no clue why it erase them or how, I had taken pix and was viewing them like I always do, when everything start blinking and the screen went blank and the camera shut off. My camera is not quite a year old. I changed batteries and thought that was the problem , but not so, no lcd, all images were deleted somehow. Now I can take a pic but the shutter speed is whacked and everything on my menu is not normal. I am bummed because Christmas is around the corner

Upper Indicator

The Canon PowerShot A400 is quite an old camera now and whilst it may not be the camera it could be another part of the kit.

If you are using rechargeable AA batteries, which should give the best performance, it could be the battery charger has lost it's ability to charge the batteries.

If you are using standard AA Alkaline batteries, check the battery terminals in the camera, as it could be they are dirty and need to be cleaned.

I want best battery for canon power shotA400
You too? :) Great little camera - but woefully inadequate power-sourcing.

My PowerShot A400 now only runs on 2x Energizer 'Ultimate Lithium'
batteries at $12 a pair... and last no longer than three weeks or about 50 images.

Won't be buying one of these again. I love the camera - but changing the batteries every few days is just way too expensive. Poor design.

Assuming PC and camera can communicate (driver loaded etc.) just open My Computer, open the "removable drive" you camera is listet as, open the folder DCIM, open folder within (usually FUJI100). Then you will se the images in the camera. You can drag the images to the location you prefer.

Fuji fine pix A400 zoom error
the camera may not be dropped but the lens may have initiated incrrectly, like it was turned on inside the case that the something prevented the lens to fully mount (telescope out) to default capture position.

it is repairable with Fuji Techs, but if the cost of the repair is worth 3/4 to the original price when you got the unit and is out of its warranty, then it will be best to get it replaced, and you may use this camera for harsh environments, like outdoor trekking or a helmet cam perhaps, it just a personal idea.

Digital camera repair
Hey BUCKS WIFE,
As far as deleting images this can be done also by formatting the memory card, but definitely upload your images to your computer first because formatting does delete all the images on your memory card. The zoom function problem on the other hand will most likely have to be looked at by an authorized service technician such as bringing it to a Geek Squad® precinct at a Best Buy™ store and they can send it out for service. I hope this helps!
