I can't find any applications for chemistry using my TI-84 plus silver edition calculator

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible.


What do you mean by "changed the resolution"?

Assuming you mean a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, yes, I have. Simply pry up the tab at the bottom of the keyboard with a thumbnail and work the faceplate off from the bottom. Put the new one starting at the top and work your way down.

Here are the values
TI84PLUS SILVER EDITION FLASH ROM 1.5MB / 24KB RAM
TI84PLUS FLASH ROM 480 KB / 24KB RAM
TI83PLUS FLASH ROM 160KB / 24KB RAM The number of applications you can charge depends on the size in kB of the applications.

About 9 applications ( around 16KB) in TI83PLUS
About 30 applications in TI84PLUS
About 90 applications in TI84PLUS SILVER EDITION.

To install them on the calculator, use the TI-connect software in conjunction with the TI USB SilverCable or the USB Direct Cable.
Connect calculator to computer.

1. Open the TI Connect software.
   
2. Drag and Drop the applications on the TI Connect software and let them install.
   
3. Make sure batteries are good.
   
4. Install one Application, then quit to permit de-fragmentation.
5. Restart with another application.

About the only other solution I can think of is to take out the backup battery if you haven't already done so. Might work.

I'm not specifically familiar with the TI83 or TI84 but I've used a lot of TI calculators in my time, so I'll give it a try. If your trying to find the antilog of a number in base 10 enter the number and hit the (10 to the X) button. If you're trying to find the antilog of a number in in base e (natural log), enter the number and hit the (e to the X) button.
