I accidentally dimmed my display screen, how do I fix it?

Yes, it is possible to adjust the brightness of the display screen on your Technics SH-EH790 stereo system.
Here are the steps to adjust the brightness on your device:

1. Press the "Display" button on your remote control or on the front panel of the stereo system. This will bring up the menu for adjusting the display settings.
2. Use the arrow buttons to select "Dimmer" and then press the "Enter" button.
3. Use the arrow buttons again to select the desired brightness level for the display. You can choose from "Bright," "Mid," or "Dark" options.
4. Once you have made your selection, press the "Enter" button to save the new settings.

The up and down arrows on the multi-function button on the back of the camera set the image on the display. With the display on, press the up or down arrow to function through the display settings and the stop on the one you want.


This often happens when you accidentally hit one of the arrow buttons while taking the picture and this changes the display image to the histogram or other display setting.

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible. Does it?

Its the dynamic contrast ratio (DCR) that dims the display when dark images are displayed.
For my VA1926w, pressing the right most button (up arrow), enables or disables DCR. Keep this disabled.

Could be a couple of things.
Hopefully, you accidentally configured the camera to not provide an instant review.

To set the instant review time:
In Capture mode, Press the menu button
use the 4-way controller (up/down arrows) to select [instant review]
press the 4-way controller (right arrow)
Use the 4-way controller (up/down arrows) to change the display time
press the OK button.
Press the menu button to return to capture status.

Displaying the grid on the screen is a graphing option accessed through the command GridOn. To turn the grid off, press [2nd][ZOOM] (FORMAT). Use down arrow to reach the 3rd line. Highlight GridOff and press [ENTER]. Press Graph to return to the graph screen.

How you activated the GridOn command by a single press of a button is a prowess. I wish you could teach me this legerdemain.

The screen will show the labels of the buttons now.
press the "arrow" to position to the brightness setting (the "sun" icon)
press the minus [-] button to dim
Press [Menu] to save & exit the OSD (on screen Display)

1. Press and release the gold [2nd] button. Verify that the blinking up arrow appears in the display.
2. Press and hold the blue up or down arrow key to increase or decrease contrast, until the display is to your liking. Be alert: the display will change quickly.

The calculator will remember your contrast setting; you don’t have to adjust it every time you turn the calculator on.
