Press the 2nd key (yellow one) and then press the UP arrow to increase brightness or down to decrease but seems like you to need to press UP arrow.

SOURCE: where is the equal sign on the ti 84 plus

hello sir, Press "second" "math", and it should be the first thing listed. If you need other commands hit "second" "0" that will enter the catalog and you can press any letter (without hitting alpha) to jump to that letter in the list. Percent sign

Despite the goodies this calculator has, it does not have a key for the percentages.
To convert a decimal number to %, move the decimal mark two places to the right and put the % symbol.
0.257 =0.257* 100%=25.7 %
To convert a percentage into its decimal equivalent, move the decimal mark two places to the left and remove the % symbol.

89.32% =0.8932

Where is the percentage sign?

There is not one, if you want to use percentages you must divide it by 100 so it is in the form of a decimal. EXAMPLE .5=50%

What is the formula to find the percent between two numbers. example: nuts cost .233 last year and this year nuts increased to .332 what is the percentage increase.

Divide .332 by .233, multiply by 100, then subtract 100.

Alternatively, since the increase in price was .099, divide .099 by .233 then multiply by 100.

This seems like a silly question considering all that a TI-84 can do, however is there a percent "key"?

No, there isn't. You can always convert a decimal value to a percentage by multiplying by 100.

Likewise, there is no permil key or ppm (parts per million) key.

How do u get % on it

On calculators you do not usually get percents. Instead, you get values which can be converted to a percent. For example what percent is 245 out of 987. You divide 245/987=.248. This is essentially the same as saying 24.8 percent. You move the decimal over 2 values. You can also round to get a nice percent number such as 25 percent.
If you are trying to put in a percent lets say you have to find 47% of 80. You just multiply .47 * 80= 38.4

Increase percentage of 70 to 200

A percentage increase from a value a to a value b is defined as
Percent increase=(b-a)/a*100 percent.
In your case it is (200-70)/70=1.857. Multiply this number by 100 and append the percent symbol. Thus increase=185.7 percent or about 186 percent.

How do you make a percent sign

You can try to look in the Catalog of commands : Press [2nd][0] to open the (CATALOG) , but you will not find it. The symbol just does not exist. There is compound symbol in the Finance applications (TVM) it is called tvm_I% but you cannot isolate the percent sign from the other symbols.

Against my better judgment that whispered to me not to answer this question I had to tell you the truth, even if it gets you mad at me. Sorry.

Where is the percent sign on this calculator

Sorry to disappoint you, but there is no such button or command on the TI8x family of calculators.

To convert from percent to decimal value, move decimal mark two places to the left.
