Refill cartridges - need to reset ink level monitors

I am trying cartridges from Cartridge World.  Dell of course does not like that and the printer will not recognize that the cartridges are full.  Is there any way to reset the monitors and read the cartridges?

I have the same problem and I get my ink refilled at Walgreens. I haven't found a way to clear the ink levels any where.

I must tell you that Dell uses sensors in the ink cartridges and the printer. So one the ink cartridges is low on ink, sensor on ink cartridges will show as low and if you get it refilled, there is no way to reset the sensor to full since Dell does not want customers to use Refilled ink cartridges. However if you are looking for Low cost ink cartridges they I would suggest you to purchase Standard Capacity ink cartridges from www.dell.com/supplies. they are almost half the price for hi capacity ink cartridges.

Reset ink cartridge

Unfortunately you can't....

The ink level indicator cannot be manually re-set in the newer HP, Lexmark or Dell integrated ink cartridges, thus making it not usable. The OEMs all leverage 'fusible links' in the nozzle plate (internal to base of ink cartridge) which physically blows the resistors as the original ink is consumed...thus resetting the ink cartridge's ink level monitoring capability is simply not possible. The ink tracking feature is only available with a brand new ink cartridge.

However, losing this feature is not necessarily significant, because the ink level indicator usually has 20%-30% ink remaining when it shows "low on ink". Therefore, the warning has limited value, because customers who prematurely replace their cartridges when they see the "low ink" message are wasting a lot of residual ink.

Refer to any of the following videos which cover this 'low ink' subject in detail:

Don't know where the refill hole is? Epson stylus c120 ink refill

The Epson 68 cartridges cannot be legally refilled at this time. There are two chips that monitor the ink levels. Once the ink gets below 25% the inner chip deactivates the outer chip so it cannot be reset. Any replacement chips you can buy are technically violating patent law. To refill these you would need a chip resetter and always refill it before it gets below 25%. I own a Cartridge World ink refilling store and I would not recommend refilling these yourself unless you enjoy getting ink everywhere and possibly still not having the cartridge work (btw there is no "refill hole" you make it yourself, thus the messiness).

How do i refill the ink myself cannon mp520

You need to reset or replace the ink level monitoring chip on these cartridges for refills to work. I know some refill kit sellers don't like to mention this to people before they buy the ink. Otherwise, I would recommend Cartridge World for ink refills because it can be messy to fill these cartridges and they always reset the chips for you.

Replaced ink cartridge and it still says low ink

There is no way to reset the ink levels on this type of cartridge. Therefore, your printer will always think refills are empty. You can choose on the dialogue box to "ignore ink levels" and run the cartridge until it is empty. This is just one thing you will need to deal with on refills of this cartridge type.

Dell a940 error code 50c

From doing my research, I have found that the 50C Error message comes from the cartridge, usually if it has been refilled. If this cartridge is new, please return it to the place of purchase for a new one or a refund.

Here's what happens when you refill the Dell Series 2 ink cartridges. There is a sensor in them that cannot be reset.

Dell ink cartridges can only be purchased at Staples, Walmart or Dell's website.

Dell ink cartridges have a sensor that reports the ink level as low once it reaches a certain level. The sensor can not be reset. If you refill an ink cartridge that previously reported low ink, it may print fine, but the sensor will always report low ink. Buying or replacing ink cartridges with new Dell cartridges will resolve the low ink message.

Dell discourages ink refills. Refilling ink may lead to print quality problems, and even eventual hardware problems.

if u have not refilled ur cartridge and u still get this error i suggest u buy a new cartridge.....

good luck

Dell series 9 refill and low ink warnings

The series 9 cartridges can be refilled. As long as the electronics are still functioning on your cartridge you should be able to print no problem. There is no way to reset the ink levels on these cartridges so you will just need to ignore the ink level warnings. I would recommend Cartridge World for ink refills. Many other stores and on-line sellers don't do the cleaning, vacuum filling, electrical testing, and print testing that Cartridge World stores do to make sure your cartridge works.

Dell 926 injection refill kit didnt work

The ink your purchased is likely a cheap watered down version of what your printer is meant to take. You may notice that the ink smears when you rub the page directly after printing. Why you chose to use the blue and red ink to make black blows my mind. These refill kits are insanely cheap and buying the black could not have been much more. Not using black ink in the black cartridge would explain why your print is faded. Also, there is no way to reset the ink levels on this type of cartridge. As long as the printer still prints, just ignore the ink level indicator and print until the ink runs dry. I recommend Cartridge World for ink refills because they use high quality ink to manufacturer specified volumes while still saving you money.

Reset Ink levels for canon mx310

I've heard that with canon there is a way around the ink-level chip monitoring on the cartridge by doing the following:
  1. Power off printer
  2. Hold RESUME button then press and hold POWER, the beeper will sound once.
  3. Hold POWER and release RESUME
  4. Press RESUME twice
  5. Release POWER button
  6. When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME three(3) times. The indicator should be orange.
  7. Press POWER to set data
