Whirlpool Duet Washer - "Door Locked"

The control can be locked to keep the buttons from activating during external cleaning or to help from small children starting the machine.

To activate or deactivate press and hold the "end of cycle signal" button for 3 seconds.

This whirlpool duet front load washer needs a reset to resolve the control lock problem. Press and hold the END OF CYCLE button for 15 seconds to reset the control. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Press any of the buttons on the control panel to see if the buttons are operational or check to see if the "Control Locked" indicator light is lit. If the control panel is operational, you may mistakenly lock the door.

Press and hold the "End of Cycle Signal" button for approximately three seconds until the "Control Locked" indicator light shuts off.

Press and hold "end of cycle" button for 3 seconds, on the right side of panel. Try door after 2 minutes. This is the child lock feature, do it again & it locks.

First check your washer plug to see if the connections are tightly screwed. Next check your filter if you haven't for long.

Remove the 3 screws at the bottom of the front panel under the washer door. Your filter door will be light brown. If you find a hose there it is to drain out excess water (water that could not be drained by your pump) After you hv drained unscrew the cap and remove all the junk inside. Have a large plastic bag to catch junk and water. Refit carefully after cleaning out. If not solved, something shd be blocking your pump, check this out. Door locked? Press "end of cycle" for 3 seconds, wait for 2 minutes & try the door. F-21 filter blocked.

Check your washer plug, tighten connections, fuse, try another electric gadget on the wall mains to see if there is power there. If power solved here:

Depress the "end of cycle" button on your panel for 3 seconds, wait for 2 minutes, try the door. This is the child lock feature, do it again and it locks.

The first thing to try is to hold the cancel button for 15 seconds. The more labor intensive solution is this: Remove the panel beneath the door (2 or 3 screws). Reach up, there is a little "ring" beneath the door lock. Pull this down, it releases the mechanism.

this is more than likely a faulty door lock, it's quite a common fault with whirlpools.
