Lenovo r61e thinkpad wireless won't come on

My Lenovo R61e Thinkpad laptop will not connect wirelessly to Internet. The wireless light doesn't come on and the wireless switch is turned on. I tried pushing the FN + F5 button with no response. I checked the Network adaptor and Wireless adaptor drivers and computer says they are working properly, but something is not working. When I scanned for driver updates there were none to be found. How do I fix it?

Well there are many reasons but from what you've
said it can only be the Switch itself or your Router's
Firmware needs to be updated.

Go to Start: Type cmd in the command prompt Type
ipconfig press Enter look for the default gateway that's
your Routers IP Type the IP number into your Browsers
url or address bar press Enter. Once inside your Router
or Modem/Router view tabs and look for Update Firmware
Follow Prompts If this does not fix your problem then you
must further look into the Wireless Switch the Light is the
Switches Confirmation that it is Working Properly. Also
a
Driver will not cause this Function to not work and I know
you said the Drivers are Good and pls don't be Mad but has
the Adapter been Enabled with the Assumption your Computer has an RJ45 port for hard wiring.

Stay Positive and We'll Figure this Out.

Some Lenovo and ThinkPad computers have a LED light that is located on the top edge of the screen and can shine a light on the keyboard.
To switch on this LED light, press the Fn key plus the PgUp key (This key maybe different on some model laptops).

IM a xp user i nid a audio device on high definition audio bus and modem device on high definition audio bus for lenovo R61e latop~ ~

The same model ThinkPadcan have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless youknow exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download allthe drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download thedrivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a recordof which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files arelocated on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEBsite - support/download page and download the latest Windows device drivers foryour model computer, Use this link: - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true

My 802.11 WAN adapter seems to have "disappeared"

Hello,

Here is a link to IBM's website for trouble shooting the wireless adapter

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-50402

From the above link:

Some systems come with a Wireless Radio switch to disable the wireless radios. The wireless radio switch is usually located on the front side of the machine. If you are having difficulties with wireless connections, make sure the Wireless Radio switch is set in the On position.

I hope this helps.

Best of luck!!

My lenovo lap top screen stays black even if the computer is on..

hi msinon, connect another external screen to the IBM-machine to check if simply the screen is broken.
If that does not help, remove the RAM-memory module (see instructions or manual), retry booting up without it, if still not lucky, the mainboard is broken and you will have to exchange it or get another new machine.
Think of transferring the old harddisk to the new laptop or keeping it as an external back-up source(you will have to buy an USB to SATA adaptor plus harddisk case) sa you can use it like a flash drive...

good luck

I am trying to search & install the audio driver of lenovo IBM thinkpad r61i for xp2

do not look at the free scan for drivers ..your driver is a little down the page just download and run ...ya might also keep it so you never have to do this again ...( keep it in a different partition than C ...so if you ever format C partition ..you will still have the driver )
Good luck ...and rate me please :P !
have a great day !
