I have a Zanussi ZWD1680 machine in my flat and it is ridiculously sensitive. I rarely get through a wash without having the E20 error come up and frequently after I restart it, the machine does nothing for 5-10 minutes before going back to E20. It does not even try to re-spin. If I am not paying close attention, a load of clothes will take hours to finish due to these frequent stops. Please help!

Error E20 means the machine has failed to pump out. 1st check the filter at the bottom right hand side there may still be water inside if so pull the grey tab to the left of the filter there should be a thin hose extend it put it into a shallow dish and pull the cap off to let the water drain this may be a slow process. When the filters out look into the hole with a torch to see if any obstructions in the pump impeller this looks like a cross. If the filters and pump are clear it may be the pump has failed.

I have taken out the filter and washed it thoroughly! Also flushed the out pipe to make sure the whole system was clean. This resolved the problem

zanussi error E20 suggests a pump/draining problem. remove pump/filter and clean it all out. its located at the end of the drain hose at the bottom of machine. power off. it might need replacement.

The drain pump and filter jammed.error E20.The drain pump getting blocked.
Plug off the mains. You have to look for screws below the front kick-panel, you can raise the machine a bit to gain access to the screws, the panel comes down & out. You may find a drain hose here, on left, drain off the excess water. The pump is on the right side. Be prepared for dirty water. Inside the big flexible tube (coming from the tub bottom) is the filter, be prepared to find all sorts of junk here, clean out.Examine your pump also, clean out the impeller. Carefully refit all. Your machine would be fine. Don’t wait for the machine to jam to look into your filter.
cleaning the filter is no easy task.
1. First, make sure you have super glue on hand, the door seal is glued to the front panel, will have to be removed first then glued back in place. Using a sharp knife, carefully begin peeling the door seal and cutting the glue close to the cabinet. Do this slowly as to not damage the door seal.
2. Remove top cover. Screws are in the back
3. Remove control console.
4. Remove screws securing the door lock. Remove all front panel screws. Remove front panel.
5. Attached to the tub there is a large, fat drain hose, inside the hose you will find a filter.
