SOURCE: My subZero Model 245 Icemaker stopped making ice

Ice maker, I don't know where you can find the manual but I'll give you a few ideas of what to look for. First make sure that the inlet tube is not frozen over. Next, look at the center gear on the module and see if the clips in the center are not broken. If so you will have to replace the module. The ejector blades should be at the 2:00 position when home. If you get a jumper wire and jump T to H, this will by pass the bi-metal and run a cycle. The ice maker should fill at around the 12:00 position. Test points L & N will verify if you have 120v to the ice-maker. Test points L & H will test the resistance of the heater, 72 ohms. plus or minus 10%. Hope this gets you going, Catriver...post back.

SOURCE: clogged fridge drain tube

The drain is behind the back panel in the freezer at the bottom. Sounds like it is frozen over which is pretty common. Will need to remove panel and thaw out drain by running hot water down. You can use a putty knife to break up ice first. Make sure you get all ice around the drain above and below the thin aluminum tray at the bottom. After the drain is free don't be alarmed if you get some water on the floor because the drain pan may not hold all of the water you ran down the drain. Not anything you can do to prevent this on this model.

SOURCE: WHIRLPOOL UNDER COUNTER ICE MAKER

It sounds like the problem is what ever dispenses the water. If it is a mechanically controlled valve then there is something wrong with that system. If it is more high tech, then it could be the circuit board if that controlls the mechanism. The defrost plate shouldnt have much to do with the dispensing system.

SOURCE: water in bottom of fridge

Thanks to all who spent money or shared their experience to have somebody do this repair, and I really mean it.
I have a Whirlpool TopLoad Fridge (not a side by side).
Things you'll need
30 minutes
Small socket for cardboard panel on lower back and panel inside freezer
Bicycle Pump
4 Towels
Hair Dryer

1. Take everything out of freezer
2. Turn dials off in fridge for both compartments
3. Pull fridge out so you can get behind it and unplug it
4. Be vigilant of ice maker line if installed
5. Pull cardboard panel off on back
On the left side you should see the back of the skinny drip pan and a small line. That line goes from the freezer and is most likely clogged.
6. Blow dry the back of the freezer enough so the ice is thawed at the bottom of the back panel.
7. Remove the two screws on the back panel. You may just be able to pull it toward you enough to get behind it. You'll see the coils and fan, and underneath these you may see some ice sheets and there should be a hole. That is the drain line that is clogged. I heated up some water and poured it over the drain to thaw the line. You may want to remove the crisper drawers and put some towels down there to catch the overflow. Once the ice is thawed enough at the drain. Go to the back of the fridge and place the end of the bicycle pump at the bottom of the drain hose. Apply pressure to get a good seal but keep pumping. You may have to go back and forth between pumping and thawing, but you'll know it is clear when you hear air going into the freezer and then the wonderful moment when water drips into the drip pan as advertised!

Keep those fridges less full so that the door stays sealed and keep the seal clean and also keep your doors from having too much stuff so the weight of the door doesn't pull away.

Okay, put it back together, turn everything on and be careful of your cord and lines when pushing the fridge back. Thank the Lord ours has wheels and man,was it cruddy underneath. Vacuum those coils underneath the fridge too for proper air circulation.

Blessings to you!

SOURCE: Crosley Servidor WCR17/E K3 Top Shelf and Drain Plug Freezes Over

first thing I would suggest is to flush the drain line. defrost any ice in the drain and then flush warm water thru the line until it flows freelyif  your having a hard time getting the line flushed out you may try using a large syringe or turrkey baster filled with warm water to forcfully flush water thru the line. this will most likely fix the problem.
you didnt mention if food was freezing in the refrig as well as the drain but there may be an off chance that the temperature control could be bad. since this is a manual defrost unit it depends on above freezing temps to help keep frost off of the cooling coil. if the temp control goes bad it will allow sub-freezing temps and possible drain freeze ups. so if the drain continues to freeze you will need to replace the temperature control.
if it comes to that, the control actually has a part number on it since maytag cant find your model number.
message me back if you have any further questions. thx peyton

Every time ice maker runs, water accumulates at the bottom of the fridge. It is a bottom freezer model made 9-2013. What could be plugged?

Hi,

Check the ice maker fill cup, it could be full of water or ice and all the water misses the ice maker. Check the fill line in the freezer to make sure its in the full cup to the ice maker. CHeck the drain under the evaporator in the freezer to see if it is open and obstructed. Thats what I would look for. Good Luck

Why does kenmore side by side model 596.50004100 leak water from bottom?

1. there is a condensation pan under refrigerators, pull front bottom grill off & you should see pan. if pan is full it will overflow, pull forward to remove & empty. also check to see if something spilled in bottom of fridge & is running into drain hole into pan. most of the time condensation is so slow that it will evaporate before the pan fills up, but I've had them fill up on me in the past, not too often though.

2. if fridge is equipped with ice maker & clod water dispenser, connections on bottom back side could be leaking ( not likely, unless they have been disturbed).

there is not much else that it could be unless it is not the fridge & is coming from some where else & running under the fridge.

There isnt any water getting thru to the icemaker. i changed the watervalve and still no water i cannot locate the water filter even tho i removed the bottom grill, water is still getting to the water...

if you put a new water valve on the fridge then you either have a bad ice maker or the line is frozen where the water fills the ice maker,a bad water valve will make the line freeze, water keeps dripping through the valve and freezes the fill line behind the ice maker cup,you can remove the ice maker and check the fill line,if it's frozen get a hair dryer, shut down the fridge or unplug it and blow the hot air into the fill line until the ice melts, then get a piece of wire and after you reinstall the ice maker pop off the cover to the ice maker and jump it out with the wire, stick it in the t and h for 15 seconds and pull it out,if the ice maker is good it will start turning and when the arms get at like 11 oclock it should fill, also you can jump out the fill valve from the ice maker, stick it in v and L and if water fills the ice maker you know you have a bad ice maker if the fill line isn't frozen.hope this helps.next time you need help send the model number,on your machine look in the fridge section on the right hand wall up near the ceiling to find it,if it's older look down near the bottom hinge on the fridge door and you'll see a tag with the model number.good luck

Our automatic ice maker will not quit dripping in the freezer. It keeps clogging the ice maker with icicles and large blocks of ice. Essentially, it keeps "freezing over." We have defrosted it...

if it keeps filling and overflowing you have a bad water valve on the back of the fridge.the part number is WR57X10027 and the valve is around 75 dollars.first thing lift the arm or shut off the ice maker so it won't leak anymore, you're missing a few letters off of the model number so when you call your parts store give them the full model number, open the fridge door, look up on the right hand side wall up near the ceiling and give them the model number to make sure you get the correct valve, shut off the water supply to the fridge, then have the new valve next to the old valve when you remove a water line from the old valve just connect it to the new valve,do this until everything is changed out and the new valve is in place, turn on the water supply and you can check the ice maker to make sure it doesn't overflow.you can manually start the ice maker by grabbing the plastic arms of the ice maker and pull them forwards slowly until the arms start to advance on their own, you'll hear the water valve fill the ice maker and then you can watch it fill to see if the water is filling it correctly and i'm sure you'll be fine with the new water valve installed

The bottom 2 drawers fill with water. To include the bottom of the fridge. I thaught it was the ice maker not working properly so I shut the water off to the ice maker and it still happens. I have noticed...

Hi,

This is due to the defrost drain being restricted. Every 8 hours or so the defrost cycle turns on automatically to rid the cooling coil of frost. The water from this cycle is suppose to drip into a pan under the coils and down a drain tube. If the drain gets restricted then the water will run down into the bottom.

I have put together some instructions on solving this. Follow this link and let me know if you have questions. If you have trouble send me the complete model number from the tag on the frig and I can get you details for your specific model.

How to get to the drain line on my Frigidaire side by side refrigerator model number MRS22WNGW7. Water keeps coming out of the freezer side onto the floor (front left side). I was told it could be a...

I just opened up the back of my Frigidaire Side by Side counter depth to find the drain hose was bent and collapsed coming right out of the bottom of the freezer and the pan was dry as a bone. It doesn't look like my drain hose has ever drained a drop of water. The freezer bottom is full of ice And the rust and chipping paint under the bottom of the freezer door along with the mysterious puddles of water every morning means the drain system definetely never worked. Frigidaire should be responsible for this. This, along with the ice maker rebuild I had to do,... after ice was spilling all through the fridge. I actually had warrantty left on that one and called customer support in India to find out I could make the repair myself. Yep I had to do it. Frigidaire you failed.

Fridge & freezer work fine but there is water running out from under it. no ice maker on this model.

the freezer has a defrost timer on the evaporator coil to keep it from freezing up and restricting the air flow to the box. It may simply be going into defrost mode to often and filling up the condensate pan. The adjustment on the timer is internal near the rear and should be done by a servvice tech

Sub Zero not making ice

if this happened when you shut down the purifier system and that feeds the fridge then yes most likely the problem or when it was shut down and then turned on again sediment could have been pushed into valve on fridge, find the shut off either under the sink or in basement, loosen the nut on water line just enough to see if any water leaks out,if not no water going to fridge,if there's water there you either have a bad water valve or a bad ice maker,if that's an older subby you can use a whirlpool ice maker instead of sub zero ice maker,i think they want like 400 bucks for a sub zero ice maker, also if you had to get in there with a hair dryer before most likely the fill tube was frozen and this usually happens from a bad water valve, water leaks through the valve slowly when it's off and it will freeze in the tube,if that ice maker is over 7 years you might want to change out the valve and ice maker because the mold rots out,you can look at it,if you see any peeling inside the mold change it out, also if that has a whirlpool ice maker in it pop off the white cover, get a jumper wire and stick it in the V and L that will send power to the water valve and the ice maker should fill,if not the valve is bad,if no water is going to it the valve will buzz,if water fills stick the jumper into the T and H this will cycle the ice maker but you have to hold the switches in in the back left side if this is a bottom mount freezer or like i said before just replace the ice maker and the valve, you can google clarke and get the phone number, call them and give them the model and serial numbers and they'll send the parts to you,if that's an older bottom mount you can use the whirlpool ice maker,go here and you can see it part wpw10190965
https://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Ice-Maker-Assembly/WPW10190965/1471727
you'll find the model and serial numbers on the top hinge on the fridge door if it's a bottom mount,if it's a side by side open the freezer door and look at top hinge and numbers will be there.hope this helps and good luck.

Ice build up in bottom of freezer

Check the ice maker. sometimes they get cracked a will leak water into the freezer compartment. Also check the ice maker fill tube for leaks or someone could have spilled something. Although this is tipical of a clogged drain. What happens is when the fridge go into derfost, it will melt all the frost that is on the evaporator, turning it into water. The water drains down to a trough under the evaporator and down a drain hole in the trough ( this trough is behind the evaporator cover ) Removing the melted frost from the freezer. If that drain is clogged, the water cannot leave the freezer. Then when the fridge starts back up ,it will freez the water that was not drained. After repeated defrosting the water will fill this trough and run off into the bottom of the freezer to be frozzen when the fridge starts to cool again.

11 year old amana bottom freezer icemaker drips water when filling tray

Hello dunc444444
Welcome,
You said, Bottom freezer works fine, but upper refrigerator has no cold air

Is your freezer so full that it is packed to the top especially in the rear?
Refrigerators and freezers share the air from the compressor and travel through vents in the rear of the freezer and fridge.
Sometimes it can effect the cooling in the fridge if the freezer articles block the vents!

The water overfilling in the ice maker is an ice maker problem only.
When we install an ice maker there is a short white plastic tube that we push through the rear
hole of the fridge which supply's the water to the maker, the outside water line attaches to this.
That tube we push through the fridge must go in till it stops. And empties in to a little sistran at the rear of the ice maker. Make sure it did not sip out or backwards a little when you may have moved
rolled the fridge out to clean under it!

Also you need periodically to remove the front grill down in front of the fridge and gently run a refrigerator brush under the coils to clean out the dust that may block air flow over the coils.(the coils are metal black tubes that run back and forth along the bottom of your fridge.
The vacuum will not reach in to that tight space. That's why they make a special brush for this chore.
Let me know how you do?
