What troubleshooting steps can I try if my TI-83 Plus family or TI-84 Plus family graphing calculator displays RAM cleared?
If a TI-83 Plus family or TI-84 Plus family graphing calculator consistently displays the RAM cleared message, the following steps will help in troubleshooting the problem.
• Try a new set of batteries (including the backup battery).
After replacing the batteries, adjust the contrast by pressing and releasing the [2nd] key followed by pressing and releasing the [up arrow]; repeat as necessary. To adjust or lighten the display, press [2nd] [down arrow].
• Remove one of the AAA batteries. With one of the batteries removed, press and hold the [CLEAR] key. While holding [CLEAR], reinsert the AAA battery and then turn the calculator on. The calculator should display the message "RAM Cleared". Release the [CLEAR] key and then press it one more time to remove the message.
• Remove all of the batteries including the round lithium battery for 5 minutes. After the 5 minute period, reinsert all of the batteries and turn the calculator on. Adjust the contrast if necessary.
• Remove one of the AAA batteries. Press and hold the [DEL] key. While holding [DEL], reinsert the AAA battery and then turn the calculator on. The calculator should display "Waiting...Please install calculator software now". From here, follow the instructions listed for Correcting the Error Message Waiting...Please Install Calculator Software Now on the TI-83 Plus Family or TI-84 Plus Family Calculator.
If the suggestions listed above do not alleviate the problem, please contact TI-Cares for information regarding service.
I got the same prob and it says
RAM free 24260
ARC free 2958
This didn't work for me.. mine is still frozen.. help!
This is kinda a weird situation. Because it's usually the other way around. Your ram will clear if your calculator is frozen. So take out all 5 batteries from the back. Even the back up battery. Then reset it again. 2nd then + then 7 then 1 Then 2. Good luck.
okay try this go and hit 2nd then + and go to the second one MEM mgmt/del. And see how much ram you have free. And how much ARC you have free. If that RAM number is small then that could be the whole problem and i can walk you through how to delete some unimportant things.
yea i'm sorry that is enough to run everything.... i'm sorry. I don't know what to tell you

Thats because the OS is corrupt. Follow the manual and reload the OS, try the 2.43 OS

Still not working, I think it's broken... and its not actually frozen i just realised, it just goes really slow, so i have to hold down a button for a few seconds for it to work, and so on... very frustrating.
RAM FREE is 24275
ARC FREE is 35474
Hopefully that helps (you help me...)
Thanks
