After turning off do the LEDs on the front panel blink on and off?
If so, you may have an issue with the lamp. Probably needs replaced or repaired.

SOURCE: We have a Samsung HL-S5086W

sound demodulator board, is a common fault with this model.
remove plug in board and send it to samsung for exchange.
cost is around 223 australian dollars.
other than that you could opt to run the sound via an external sound system.

It started out with 2 burnt pixels and then more and more were burning out. Now after 2 weeks I have about 1000 burnt on my samsung DLP HL-S6186W. Is there anything I can do?

Burned pixels or stuck pixels? Check out this website http://www.jscreenfix.com/basic.php it will help you, but if you got too many I wou;d be looking at a warrentee issuue,

Display is to high on dlp set

the entire light engine assembly is not positioned in far enough. did you replace the color wheel yourself ?. if not call the tv repairman back to reposition
