I need help from anybody tell me if on my wine chiller i have to put ice or water due i turn it on and bottle doesnt cool at all maybe i have to put ice or water and i dont have a owner manual. thank you
For the KITCHEN SELECTIVES WINE CHILLER...A box on ebay says: Put bottle inside, add ice to neck of bottle, add water, plug in and set timer for 10-20 minutes. It chills from 77* to 55*or 33* (can't read numbers clearly) in 10 minutes. Can also be used on other drinks and canned drinks. Can be used as an ice bucket as well to keep the opened bottle chilled.
I just bought one at Goodwill for $4 today and was looking for the instructions as well. Hope this helps!

Angels, sounds like your defrost drain is frozen over. When the refrigerator is going into defrost it's draining through the front instead of the drain pan. You can remove the shelves and peel off the back cover and clear the drain by pouring hot water on the frozen drain hole. If you have a baster of some sort you could try to squirt the hot water through the venting on the bottom of the panel. Another way to to point a hair dryer on the drain hole. The best method is to remove the shelves and panel and make sure the drain is clear. Catriver..post back.

Pull the front cover off the i/maker. There are holes on the module(the piece with the large gear) They are labeled T an H at around 5 oclock L and V around 6-9 oclock use a piece of wire to jumper l and v first it should start to fill if it doesnt the fill tube may be iced up, if it does fill then jumper t and h for about 6-10 secs or until it will advance by itself. Also whirlpool had a batch of faulty modules the large gears were breaking if it wont advance or if the plastic gear falls off easily then this is the problem. Dont forget to rate my solution!! Thanks!!!

No, I would not recommend putting water into the chill chamber since if there is a "gap" hole in this compartment, the water could get inside the unit's electronics etc.. which could at the very least short the unit and at worst electrocute you as you take the bottle out/touch the unit. That's the problem with this or any other Peltier/thermoelelectric type of chiller. They are only good for maintaining an ALREADY cold bottle's temperature, not for chilling it rapidly. There is no good or inexpensive way to get better chilling from these types of units. It's the law of themodynamics and heat transfer. Water is the best/safest/most inexpensive medium to use, not chilled air or even super cold air. Cold air or even super cold air just does not match the chilling
potential of a liquid like water. The reason why 50F air is no
problem, for you to be out in for hours, but 50F water you'll get
hypothermia in 20-30 mins.
The best unit for chilling a warm wine bottle is the cooper cooler. Go to www.coopercooler.com. It uses ice and water and sprays the ice cold water over the bottle while spinning it to chill it quickly. This unit is great since it can also chill single serve drinks like beer/soda etc so is more versatile than the other chillers. Cheapest is about $59 which is much less than the waring at ~$100

I have the same problem as stated with the light flashing and fan tries to rotate. I found by disconnecting the power wires to the cooling unit, the fan rotates. light works and no clicking sound.
I suspect the cooling assembly is defective causing the unit to not work properly.
Does any one have a part number for this part and where I might purchase the cooling unit. RepairClinic.com does not have thhe cooling unit.

Of course! There is a
wide variety of single cooling systems for wine bottles. We don't drink a lot of wine, but when we
have guests over I like to have the wine chilled properly. I prefer the stainless steel coolers, since
the look more sleek and stylish.
