On a Honeywell thermostat the flashing means that the system is in a delay to turn on the compressor. This is used to protect the compressor from coming on and off too often. The normal delay is about 5 minutes. After that the system should come on. If not there is s problem.

In order to help us help you we will need a little more information. What happens either at the inside unit or at the outside unit after the thermostat stops flashing "Cool"? Any fans come on? Do you hear a "KLUNK"? Any sparks? Please let us know so we can help.

I am not seeing any fans come on on the outside unit, and the thermostat stops blinking "cool on" and displays a constant "cool on".

Sounds like the outside contactor is bad may need to carfully push in contacts manually with a screwdriver - if fan & compressor starts you may have a bad coil on the contactor - replace it .

Same issue here.. AC always started up immediately upon lowering temp. Now suddenly, a delay of 3-5 min. happens before the ac starts up. Then it cools normally. What changed ?? Clues ??

Shut off the Breaker inside the house replace fuses or have them tested at the Hardware, and check and see if the contactor on the outside condensing unit has pulled in when calling for cooling...

My Johnson Control Thermostat is just blinking AC not the snowflake or cooling. I can't see the temperature or anything like that? It' just flashing AC.

I recommend you go to Honeywell site and type in your thermostat model etc. It will give you step by step procedures and may provide the answers you are seeking.

How do I set my thermostat so that it doesn't keep going off and leaving me with no hot water .I have a Honeywell digital thermostat.

The problem is not your thermostat. It is the person who told you that your AC would be your sole source of hot water. The purpose of heat recovery is to ASSIST with hot water production and reduce the current used by your water heater. The only time your AC heats your water is when it is working to cool (or if it's a heat pump, cool and heat) your home. Turn your water heater back on and let your AC help keep the water hot. It's not supposed to do it alone.
