What does auto defrost setting on HB Elite slow cooker do? I can't find it referenced anywhere!

Auto defrost is an advanced heating temperature setting for frozen meat or veg. Since the average person simply places fresh unfrozen food into the cookers, they set the time and temp for the desired food preparation.
You have a cooker that allows you to put frozen foods in the cooker and heat fast to defrost and then go on the do a full cooking thereafter.

Kenmore elite upright freezer model 25326093100

It does sound like the thermostat is acting up. It could also be a defrost timer if it is a frost free model. The timer could be running slow and remaining in defrost longer than it is designed to. Thermostat can get erretic also and work fine sometimes nad then not work correctly another. When it is shut off after cycling off tap the thermostat. if it comes back on thgis could be your problem.

Making hardly any ice

Are the ice cubes being formed the same size as before? If freezer temperatures are increasing above 5 Degrees Fahrenheit in freezer this will slow down and at times stop ice production. Look around the rear wall of your freezer to see if a layer of frost is building. If yes this will indicate a defrost problem that in turn raise freezer and fresh food temperatures. Here is a Whirlpool Ice Maker Troubleshooting PDF You can find this info on this page HERE You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view these documents. The Adobe Acrobat Reader is available as a free download. I will be here should you have any questions, Thanks Sea Breeze

When freezer is in defrost, inside temperature rises to 40 degrees F. The technician says this is normal. Problem is, the food is defrosting and we get frost on the food. Ice cream turns to liquid.

No this is not normal. There is a temperature sensor commonly called a klixon that is strapped to the evaporator coil or a plate mounted to the evaporator coil that should cut the heater power if the coil gets warm enough. The defrost timer could be faulty - running slow and defrost may be a bit longer than usual but the temerature sensor should cut the heater off way before the unit gets that warm. I would get another technician as this is a pretty simple problem to diagnose and repair.

Freezer temp rises to -15 deg. and is slow to return to -18 deg.

Hi, this unit may be going through its defrost cycle when you notice this warming up time. They defrost on time and temperature depending on the model. If it does this constantly, like a lot, you may have a problem some where. Keep an eye on it and try to time it if at all possible to see the duration of this warm up spell. Please keep me posted on this so I can get to the bottom of this.

Sanyo Frost Free Fridge (Model SR 1031) very slow to cycle through freeze to defrost back to freeze cycle. The temp in Freezer compartment goes from -17 degrees to -1 degree then back to -17 as it takes in...

DO NOT TRY TO MODIFY TIMING CYCLE.you would need to completely modify printed circuit board and inbuilt computer......some freezers cycle around 6 to 8 hours.the temperature can only be checked say every 12 hours to get an average reading

Uline icemaker compressor runs very hot - slow ice production

if the ice production is slow first try to set it on a warmer temperature. Now if its frosted up then you will need to defrost it. Also check the fan to see if its running. if yes is the condensor clean? If yes then check temperature in bucket. 10 to 15 degrees is ideal for this model.

HOTPOINT FRIDGEFREEZER

Sounds like frosting up. Defrost completely...that can take 2 days. Restart. Also, clean the condenser. Check door gaskets, clean and replace as necessary. Don't keep door open longer than necessary.
