ISSUE: The customer may experience a missing color plane if the toner cartridge door is opened partially and then closed. This may occur anytime the toner cartridge door is not opened fully and then closed. SOLUTION: Open the toner cartridge door completely. Pull the toner cartridge tray so it extends until it stops. Verify the cartridges are in the tray correctly, adjust if necessary. Close the toner tray and toner door and try reprinting the job. If one or more of the colors is still missing verify that the cartridge is not empty.CAUSE: The toner cartridge tray will disengage the toner drive mechanism when the front door is partially opened. In some circumstances the toner drive mechanism will not reengage when the door is closed. The result is one or more color planes will not form an image during the printing phase.
Hi,
Try re-installing the printer driver and see.
Hope it works,
cheers,
K
When you print black and white pics, does it print whole thing as black or the colors inverted or just a whole blank black sheet ?
I still feel you should try re-installing the printer driver.
Alright,
Try cleaning the catridge head.
May be the micro pumps could not pump out the ink properly ...
Hope this works,
Cheers,
If the problem persists, try contacting HP.
They should replace it for free.
cheers,
K

I reinstall the printer driver and checked the cartridge as well. Neither solved the problem. The screeching problem makes it sound like there is a problem with the new black cartridge, even though I ordered it direct from HP. It is coated with black toner powder, which is different than my old cartridge.
