There should be some thing wrong with its internal circuit. Protection circuit works on, as soon as you switch it on. You TV need a through checkup. It will be best to contact any service technician, since the work is somewhat skilled one. change vacuum presure hoses, check for leak, repalce aternator vacuum passage.

Simply insert the converter between the curent cable and the TV. The converter should have come with a short RF cable that you can use between teh converter and the TV. I have incluede a before and after line diagran below.
