Hello,

The usually reason the door remains locked once the cycle is over is because the filter screen on the drain pump is blocked so not all the water could drain out...the door lock is tied into the pump and until the pump tells the control board that the wate r is out the door will not unlock. This tip i wrote will show ya how to take apart the washer to clean the filter on the pump.

How to operate the washing machines front load washer brandt bf850

Hi,
  • Open the front door and load the clothing into the washing machine. Check the owner's manual for the maximum load size. Overloading the washing machine may interfere with its ability to spin the clothes and rinse them clean.

  • Fill the detergent receptacle on the front of the washing machine, making sure not to fill it past the indicated line. Always use a liquid detergent that is designed for front-loading washing machines.
  • Add bleach or fabric softener, if needed. Most front-loading washing machines have a section for fabric softener inside the detergent receptacle. Check the instructions on the bleach to find out when it should be added to the washing machine.
  • Close the front door of the washing machine and make sure it locks into place. The machine usually will not turn on unless the door is securely locked.
  • Check the owner's manual to find out how to select the different options and wash cycles. As a general rule, use warm or cold water for most types of colored clothing. Hot water should only be used when washing white cotton items.
  • Start the front-loading washing machine and let it run through the entire wash, rinse and spin cycles before opening the door to unload the clothing.

  • Please rate this solution. Regards.

    Clothes locked inside the machine

There is a mechanical lock so you can't open it when running. make sure the switch is off but machine is plugged in. push the door in with a little bit of pressure and with the base of you hand give it a few gentle "thumps around the area of the opening handle it it likely stuck from you trying to open the door in the locked position. Hopefully that will knock it loose (I've seen it before you will probably here it click)

Door handle of washing machine broken

if clothes are still in washer? and machine has finished cycles? then handle broke so unable to open ??? your best option is to unplug/ and if necessary disconnect water supply hoses then remove the top screws from rear panel which also secure the top panel as you will observe ? then pull backwards top panel and loft off ? you now have access/visual of the door catch inside front machine look?? at the catch and you will see how it locks ? you can lever the catch gently and door opens to fit a new door catch is easy diy and not expensive if you are confident usual problem these break ? is the time delay micro switch sticks with age /moisture try dw40 and work plunger b4 you refit door back after replacing handle/catch assy

Washing machine won't stop draining water

To take your clothes out, just unplug machine's power cable and you should be able to open the door. Why do you think that your "machine thinks that there is still water inside it when there isn't" ?
