MHello. We have a DWC283BLS-1 wine cooler. I got it from my aunt who had it in storage. The digital numbers on the front keep staying at 83 & 83. Every time I press the buttons to make the number lower, it just beeps, flashes & goes back to the same numbers. It is not cooling at all. What shall I do?

It sounds like the Freon leaked down. That always happens when they are stored. Find a community college that has refrigeration classes and maybe they will look at it for you.

SOURCE: Noisy Wine Fridge

I had the same problem, and found it to be as RonLew described. In our case it was the internal fan in the upper rear section of the fridge. Apparently, since it is mounted so close to the rear panel, the sound seems to amplify from the back. Anyway, a replacement fan was only $3.71 direct from Danby, but I did have to pay 7.99 for shipping. Also, there is a fair amount of disassembly and re-assembly needed, which might be challenging for those who don't typically make their own repairs. Once removed, the only thing I could find wrong with our old fan was that the shaft was very loose in the unit, which may have indicated a bad bearing.

that's always a possibility but not always the case. The thermostat may not be cycling correctly or set wrong. The condenser could be dirty or if there is a fan, it may not be running. Freeze ups can also cause an "Out of temp." condition. Check it out.

SOURCE: code E4 on dandy wine

We had that problem in 2007, about 10 months after buying it from Costco. It was under warranty so the tech came and changed both sensors. It's worked fine until Feb 11. Now, the lower section ran so cold it froze some bottles. I am looking for a solution to that problem.

Are you tray to "reset" the unit; disconnected power few minutes (five before to reconnected again).

If the problem come on again, try to set the temp manually accordign the User Guide.

Danby DWC283BLS has condensation inside the unit.

wine coolers have no means of draining the condensate inside them, use silica gel(1/2 pint)to keep the inside dry(remember to dry it out when condensate happens again)
