Washing machine will not drain

What ever programme I put my washing through, the machine fills with soapy water and starts the cycle. However it will not drain the soapy water out in order to rinse the clothes. Instead the dial clicks round continously. If I manually select Drain or Spin it will attempt these actions, fail and the dial will then continue to click round. I've drained the machine by removing the front of the pump on the botttom right hand corner. I did find 10p piece lodged in the waste pipe. The pump appears to be whole and the impellor spins when the machine is on Spin Cycle but the the machine still wont drain. Can anyone help me please?

hi! my washer spin but stop when is time to drain and it does nothing else

i removed the hose behind and the remainig of the weter come out. but istill does not work, what should i do???

My washing machine does the same thing. It will do the wash cycle but it won't do the rinse cycle. The dial will continue to turn but the water doesn't drain out. I thought the hose might be clogged. I removed the hose front the top (where it connects into the wall) and blew it in and then ran the rinse cycle. It sounded like it was trying to go through that cycle. It would start and then stop. What should I try next?

Noticed our Whirlpool washing machine cycles where becoming too long and very slow to drain. Would spin for ages before stopping and still clothes seemed soapy. Finally removed the filter from the front access point and found one of the kids socks in it. Once removed all was OK. Should have listened to the wife when she said there was a sock missing weeks before!!

Our Maytag Neptune front loading (older model). will not drain. When the wash cycle is complete the clothes are soaking wet and there is still water left in the bottom of the tub. This has happened on two other occasions. The other two times the problem resolved itself.

The Drain Pump is not working, i am draining the machine by butting the hose on the floor. All other functions are ok.

they told me it is the PCB and will coast you about 200$, my machine is 15 months old.

    thank you

  • dangmachine May 09, 2008

Ok.my Maytag has a similar problem. Will not drain or spin but this only happens in the normal cycle. If i put it to the spin on the other cycles such as gentle it will spin and drain just fine. This tells me it is not plugged and the motor and belt are fine. So what does that leave me? The timer/controller? I have tried to clean it with contact cleaner etc with no luck. Do these go out often? I have replaced every other part on this lousy machine in the 10 years i have owned it. No more Maytags for me.

  • Anonymous Jun 29, 2008

I replaced a tube that had a whole in it. The

GE washer was running fine until I replaced. I dont know what to do. Now it will not drain or spin. I hear clicks and a hum noise but nothing else.

  • she11ane Apr 20, 2009

I am currently having the exact same problem but with a different washing machine. It will do the whole wash but when it gets to the end it just stops. I have tried turning it to the fast spin programme but it wont drain the water out. I have taken the drain pipe out thinking something was blocked but when I put it in a bowl on the floor the water all came out. But when I put it in the tap thing again it wont do it because it is raised off the floor. Now all me clothes are soaking wet and I cant get it to spin or drain, I would get it fixed but I am only on benefits and have 2 kids to support. Please can someone offer another alternative, I am desperate and have alot of washing to do now!

I have a KitchenAid washer. I loaded the machine and put the program on Normal cylce. The machine works for a few minutes and stops. I pressed the program knob to switch off and again pull it out to restart. Upon doing that the machine starts draining and stops after a while. This draining and stopping continues by itself. If I advance the programe manually, the agitation action does not take place nor does spin action take place. Could you pls suggest a solution? Thanks

ALWAYS take out the pump and check the impeller - take it off the pump and LOOK INSIDE the unit. It may have a mass of trapped hair inside.

The drain line is probably clogged. Maybe that a sock or other piece of clothing get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. In this case it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump.Remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out. In case it clean there, check the outer tub port- open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, try to remove the clothing through the port. Good luck !

Draining problem is very common in Bosch washers. However, it is very easy to fix. 1)Remove the white circular plate, located on the bottom left. Push a small screwdriver or needle through it and simultaneously rotate the plate clockwise. 2)Open the drain valve. Rotate the circular black handle counterclockwise. Beware of residual water. 3)Clean it. Re-assemble in reverse order. Bosch is an excellent washer. Don't be discouraged by this simple maintenance issue. Serg

If you have a front loading machine ( I have a GE.), they have a catch sleeve inside the drain line before the drain pump. Remove the lower front panel to access the pump and remove the large hose from the drum. Inside the hose is the sleeve, take out the sleeve and clean it.

Probably a blockage in the drain hose at the back of the machine. Easy to fix. Turn machine off then pull machine out so you can easily access behind. Have bowls and cloths/rags at hand for water spillage. The drain hose is located low down and links into your sink drain, it is held in place by a clip. Remove the clip and hose. This will start to drain the machine so make sure you have enough vessels to catch the water. When the water has stopped draining, check the hose for blockages : buttons / coins / hair grips / paper etc. Also check the hole where the hose attaches to the machine. Remove items then blow through the hose to see if there are any other restrictions. If all clear then replace hose on back of machine. Clear up. Move machine back to normal position. Switch on and set to spin. When complete, the machine should shut off cycle and unlock door. This will save you at least 100 pounds on a call-out. Good luck.

Hi I have similar problem, I tried everything and changed water pump thought that the pump was the culprit but still won't work. I tried to reset it and it works! Don't buy water pump unless you're sure that is the problem. Reset it and it will work, here is the link how to reset. http://www.fixya.com/support/t12343001-bosch_maxx_6_reset

Your controller board has a defective triac its a 3 leg 1amp triac
and has a 1k load resistor and a driver transistor that also has a 1k series resistor to the control pin of the triac

its on the controller board

you need to replace the pump back end as its leaking water to the coils and has damaged the driver on the controller board

however its easily repaired

Oko 72630. Why is it stuck on rinse cycle?

Could be several reasons:
- Selected the "Night cycle" program (means standing with the drum full of water, reason: too much noise in the spin cycle)
- Set to the "Rinse hold" (means standing with the drum full of water, reason: wrinkles on the clothes)

According to your description I think that this is not a failure otherwise error E20 will be appears on display.

Once the washing programme has come to an end, END illuminates on the programme progress display.
If RINSE HOLD was selected, the display beside the START/ PAUSE button flashes.
1. After a rinse hold, the water must first be pumped out:
- Either press the START/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out and the washing is spun according to the completed programme;
After the START/PAUSE button is pressed again, the spin speed can still also be changed during spinning), or
- Turn the programme selector to PUMP OUT and press the START/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out without spinning),or
- Turn the programme selector to SPIN or SHORT SPIN and press theSTART/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out and the washing is spun or gently spun).
At the end of this programme step, the END indicator will illuminate.
2. Open the door.
As soon as the DOOR indicator lights up green, the door can be opened.

My washing machine stopped working in mid-cycle. No agitation is going on and I could not drain it but putting to spin.

Make sure the washer fills with cold water from the beginning of the cycle because most washers have a cold only rinse cycle and if your cold water valve is bad then the machine will stop mid cycle because it cannot fill the washer for the rinse cycle. Secondly, it helps to know which washer you have so please enter more info next time you ask a question. Good luck.

The washer will not drain or spin

more than likely the pump needs replacing, first of all remove the outlet drain hose from the the place it discharges and lower it into a bucket, this should allow it to syphon away, you may need to empyt the bucket a few times once the machine is empty you should be able to put it on its spin cycle once it has spun locate and remove the filter to remove any objects or lint, fill machine with warm water and try to drain and spin via the programme,if this do not work fit a new pump

Soon as i set cycle and swich on door light flashes open

hi,
The cycle doesn't advance
When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Thanks for your question.

Washing machine will not drain

Please fill your washer with a very small amount of water, turn it to spin and tilt it back. You should be able to see the belt on the bottom turning your pump. I ask you to verify this because imporper belt tension or a bad thrust bearing can keep it from turning improperly. If it turns freely on this test, Then you have something plugged up. Drain the water out. Next unhook the hose that goes between the tub and the pump at the tub side. You can get sock or other small articals of clothing in there that will prevent draining. If that is clear. It is likely you have had another coin go through your hose that goes between the pump and the wall. They can get quite a ways in there and maytag hoses get smaller right before they end. If you have a coin in this area you will need to work it all of the way back to the pump side of the hose.
