Machine will not start. found fuse blown on control board, replaced fuse and machine would hum. when I increased the speed control the control board went up in smoke. Machine is 10 years old. Would board and motor be advised or whole new machine?

1) test the power cord for open 2) test the outlet box, see for blown fuse or c.breaker put some desk lamp and see if work 3) test inside of the control board if there fuse blown or c.breaker tripped 4( test the lid switch is closed, can be faulty or open replace 5) test the input voltage 115 if there are the control board faulty.

first off let me say u may have a motor with bad windings. if it is belt drive try removing the belt and see it after plugging in and starting , will it now run? thus weak windings. you may have a bad control board but first check these

sounds like a bad motor control board. It is located at the front rt bottom and will probably show a burnt spot in it or the fuse will be blown. You must replace motor kit.
