SOURCE: Rinse water fills the washing machine when the spin cycle starts

Check your outlet filter, most likely it is blocked, preventing the water from draining out. Chk your pump too. Before this disconnect from the wall socket; and also check the pipe coming from the tub to the filter. Siphon out the excess water from inside the machine before you open the pipes.

SOURCE: CD trays will not open.

Use a paper clip. If you push a wire in the holes of each tray it will release the trays. The proper holes look like little dashes on the face of each tray, one end or the other.

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it (4 to 6 inches maximum) Of course some direct the hose into sink, fine. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

My the front load washer model gcvh6900jww has the red lock on the display. I accidentally held the start button for a few seconds and it locked. I tried holding the start button again for up to 20 seconds...

  1. Found This HelpfulSometimes something will go wrong in your washing machine that will cause it to lock up or stall. An overloaded washer or a brief power surge can cause this. The washer may not drain or spin properly, or it may stop the cycle in the middle of the wash. Another cause may be that the washer was stopped before the cycle was able to complete. In this case, the washer will spin and drain over the next 24 hours, but it will stall before reaching the final spin. GE has two simple methods to reset the controls
For Newer Washers:
    • 1 Unplug the washer.
    • 2 Twist the control dial around the cycle settings.
    • 3 Place the dial on any setting other than the final spin.
    • 4 Ensure that the water line is securely attached to the washer.
    • 5 Plug the washer back into the wall (making sure it has gone at least 30 seconds without power).

WASHING MACHINE stopped in mid-cycle

if it stops at the drain and spin cycle check the lid switch, open the lid,set the washer to spin cycle and pull out the timer knob, stick a screw driver into the hole where the strike from the lid goes into and push down,if you don't hear a clicking sound when you push down on the switch in the hole then you have a bad lid switch but if your machine does run sometime it sounds like the switch will work if you push down on it,could be cracked where the screws go into it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5aW9WkTFhE watch video on how to replace it.if you do hear a clicking sound when you open and close the lid or push down with the screw driver you could have a bad timer but check the lid switch first

When I accidently push the start button when I mean to push the key button to open the door, the cycle will start again. Is there any way to stop it?

Push and hold down the start button again. The machine will stop. Turn to Spin (to drain the water that burped into the machine when you turned it on by accident). Hit start, let the drain and spin cycle complete. Hit the key button and you're all set.

Front loader stops mid cycle and blinks Er until start button is pressed, the cycle will continue, and sometimes repeats this scenerio three -four times each load. any thoughts anyone?

The control board has detected an error. Press any button to wake the machine then wait for 5 seconds. Press and hold the START/PAUSE and CANCEL buttons simultaneously then the failure code will appear in the display as an "E" followed by two numbers, a number and a letter or two letters as long as the buttons are held. The control will beep and the Door Lock, Wash, Rinse, and Final Spin indicator lights will flash. Post back the code for further advice.

During spin cycle the washer allows water to enter the machine. If I shut the water during this cycle it spins out fine but when the cycle reaches the off position it doesn't really shut off. Sounds like...

open the door on the washer,in the middle rear just above the tub you will see the shute were the water comes in to the washer, make sure it is connected to the back panal,if is not than you will nead to remove the washer top door and cover assemble, there is a panal between the dryer and the washer,at the top of the panal on each side you will see a screw, remove them and remove the panal,at the back of the cover on each side you will see a clip with a 5/16 screw in it,remove the screws and slide the cover forward about 1 ",next lift the frount of the cover and on the right side you will see the door switch conneter, unhook the conneter and remove the cover, next you can see the water inlet shute,if is broken than replace it and hook it up to the back panal, next replace cover and panal and run a test run.

GE Adora front load washer overloaded now won't start

Washers - Resetting Electronic Controls on a Washer

If there is a pause in the washer cycle, the controls will lock up. The pause can occur because of a power failure or it was put in the test mode at the factory.

Also, if the washer was stopped before the cycle was complete or the consumer has pushed the stop/pause button to temporarily stop the cycle and the cycle is not reset. Over a period of 24 hours, the washer will pump out and spin, but will stay in the final spin.

To correct the situation, shut off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or unplug the washer, then turn the timer knob around and back to any position other than final spin. Verify the water is turned on and restore power. This should resolve the issue.
