I bought sony cybershot dsc-w530 in Japan. I want to change the language setting from japanese to english.

Press the [MENU] button to display the Menu screen. Use cursor-down to select Settings (toolbox icon), then press * in the center of the cursor pad. Use cursor-down to select the second item, then press cursor-right, then *.

There may be a simple fix to this problem.
Find a friend that has a cybershot of the same model as your own. In their camera, open the menu and navigate to the language setting. While you do this count how many times you press the button. Example:
Menu
-camera settings 1
-program 2
-personal settings 3 press ok

personal settings
-storage type 1
-date and time 2
-language 3 press ok

language
-spanish 1
-english 2 press ok
-japanese




Although the language is different, the number of spaces should be the same, so even though you can't read it to change the language, you should be able to count it out. Or if you are lucky you may have a Japanese friend who can read it.

Changing language settings on digital cameras sometimes can be confusing. We will have to make use of the menu symbols so that we can change the language from Japanese to English. The picture below shows us the navigation buttons that we will use in this process.



1. Press the MENU button
2. Choose .
3. Choose 4. Choose 5. Choose English.
