Tip & How-To about Microsoft Office Computers & Internet

I want Microsoft Office capability for free!

Microsoft will let you download a trail version of office from their site or it was installed by the computer manufacture but after 25 uses, you either buy it or it quits. If you want to buy it, I recommend getting it from a local store then you will have the CD in case you need to reinstall. It costs $125-150. Some stores sell it for less when you have bought the computer from them. Even though it was on your computer, it was only a trial version until you pay for it!

A better solution is to use a free compatible version from http://download.openoffice.org/other.html or use the online free version from Microsoft at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/web-apps/. You can set the default file types in OpenOffice to the standard Microsoft types, i.e. .doc, .xls, etc

Another alternative is using Google documents which is a free online document editor. Go to https://docs.google.com/ You will need a google ID which is also free.
If this answered your problem 4 thumbs would be nice as I do this for fun, not for pay.
