Tip & How-To about Adobe Computers & Internet

Speed up the performance of Photoshop on your system.

To speed up performance of Photoshop on your system.

1
. Click on "Edit" next to File at the top.

2. Scroll down to the very last option which would say "Preferences".

3. Now choose "Performance" in the Preferences Menu.

4. In the new window look for the options under "Scratch Disks" you can select all the hard drive partitions on your system under that option.
Selecting the hard drive partitions would enable Photoshop to use the empty space on the hard drives as your system memory thus will help in the performance of the software.
You can see noticeable affects of the "Scratch Disks" option when saving very large files which amount in hundreds of megabytes.

5. If you have a good AGP, PCI or a PCIE video card (exclude all integrated or onboard video cards) you can enable the "GPU Settings" which will let Photoshop to use your video card for processing and performance increasing the overall performance. Enabling the "GPU Settings" will largely result into less framing, quicker excution of Filter effects.

The"Scratch Disks" option is available in some older versions of Photoshop also.

before booting shows 2 profile

You need to edit your boot.ini file Click on START, right click on MyComputer, click on properties. In the System Properties Window click on the Advanced tab at the top, then click on Settings under Startup and Recovery. Click on Edit to edit the startup options manually. it should open a notepad that looks similar to this: [boot loader] timeout=5 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windo ws XP Media Center Edition" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptOut Under the [Operating Systems] sections is where you will have multiple entries for profiles. Delete the entire entry for the profile you don't use. Save the file afterwards and that should do it. Good Computing!
