I have the same problem on my 42" Samsung. It started as one dot now there are six. The TV repair shop told me they can sometimes fix it by adjsuting the voltages. If not it is the DMD board. I called Samsung on Jan. 6/11. They told me that as of Dec. 31/10 they would no longer repair the sets for free.

Yes, you just have to toggle manually using the plus and minus key as well as the channel up and down keys to navigate the menu

the color wheel is faulty needs replacement the intermittent colors na fading is caused by the speed being not in sync with the dmd due to wear these and the fans are the only moving parts

change the color wheel its worn out the chirping or whirr comes from the color wheel in the light engine u will need a tech to replace it

I would try replacing the entire ballast. Make sure that the lamp switch is good too. 3 blinks usually indicates an open lamp door.

Most of the time the female end of the connector comes right of a part called the ballast. Ballast's are replacable. Is the aluminum melted? I am not sure where to purchase the ballast. The female connectors is ussally atached to frame with screws or sometimes clips

The lamp may be approaching time to replace. If the lamp is just on the edge of its functional envelope, under certain circumstances, the ignition circuit will detect the lamp as failed and shut down.

You could always call Samsung and see if you can get this under waranty.

But yes, my guess would be the lamp!

I suspect either your lamp is at end of life OR as one projector I worked on the heat sink for the DLP chip was totally occluded with dust causing chip to overheat.

Most likely the tv projection lamp life are ending.The tv projection lamp been inside this tv like 1 1/2 or 2 years?Tv been on watches like 4 or 5 hours each day?The tv projection lamp life are ending,require a new tv projection lamp.

10 months is a very small amount of time of dust problem but try to have a look to the fan near the lamp to see if it runs you should feel
the heat comming out
