There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

As soon as you take the back off the set, the t-con board is located at the top middle of the set under some shielding.

try the volume if this works then press SELECT to save the code. If not then press TV again then the volume. repeat this step until the volume works then press the SELECT button to save the code.

when heat is turned off is to check the power supply you may have spent filters, but also check what is the card that feeds the reverse lamparas processors and the same panel

Hi There, My advice is don't do it. There is a good chance it won't work I found a bit of a description of the problems here http://hometheater.about.com/od/televisionbasics/qt/ntscpalframes.htm The differing standards have been sucked forward into the digital era. :( There are also voltage and frequency issues to think about. You may find an adaptor but it could also stuff your picture quality. Even if you can get it to work you will be on your own with Warranty. If something go wrong you may have to return it to your place of purchase. I hope this helps with your decision. Doug.

i would check the main total assembly, also you might try unplugging the set for 5 minutes to reset the tv

There's clearly a heat-stressed component in there, possibly something as simple as a badly soldered joint in which a gap opens up due to heat expansion.

It's not that old a TV so may be covered under warranty. If not it's going to need to go into a repair centre where they can find the fault and repair or replace the affected part.

Re-soldering a bad joint isn't always possible in which case the circuit board which it's located on gets replaced instead.

If there is no code, then there is no code.

The only other option would be to buy a 3rd party remote that is compatible with both devices. Unfortunately there is no way to know if it will actually work until you try it.

replace the mainboard and that should solve your problem.

Probably a bad main board. 

Surround sound will come from the speakers from your surround system. So if you have it connected through HDMI 1 select that option from the source button on the remote control. If you have it connected through Scart 1 then select AV1 from the source button. It also best to turn the volume from the TV to minimum so that the sound only comes from the surround speakers.

This is the Power Board for it. check those 6 electrolytic Capacitors on the right for bulging or splitting. Don't buy it blindly, it's a guess.
