i have a chipper and it started giving lot of problems 4 yrs ago, so I got this free Pdf manual from reliable-store for free and I don't think Ive visited a mechanic or fixya for help for more than 3-4 times out of the 20 times I fixed the chipper in these 4 years

that could be wiring issue that the battery isn't able to take up the electricity supplied to it.. u know, the conductor between them.. if possible get a manual from reliable-store to fix it urself

i NEED A REPLACEMENT VACUUM SNOUT FOR A 1990 TROY BILT CHIPPER-VAC. THERE IS NO MODEL NUMBER FOR THAT YEAR, ONLY DESIGNATED AS "MODEL 5 HP".

take `bowl off carb. claen well and replace. If you didn't completly clean tank and fuel line, do it again spray carb. cleaner direct into carb. and try starting. The cleaner may need to be used several times. good luck. l

Empty your gas tank and clean it out completely drain fuel from hose feeding the carb., take bowl off the bottom of the carb. and clean outthe bowl besure that all the gum and varnish is removed. replaceall the removed parts. Then remove carb. filter and spray directly intoopen carb. cleaner. replace filter and clean spark plug and Start.

I am successful too at using the starting fluid in the carb or directly into the clinder. That is how I start my MTD 5.5hp chipper. My problem is I have to hold down the primer bulb to keep it running. If not, the engine will stall.

Make sure the kill switch doesn't have a bad spot in ti allowing it to ground out. If that is working properly and not grounded when you squeeze the safety, you need to test and or replace the coil pack.

The float may have a hole in it causing it to sink and not seal the needle. Look at the float and check it for holes. You can shake it and listen for gas inside it. if so replace float.
