Toro Lawn Mower With Toro Power Tools - Page 7 Questions & Answers
Toro 6.5 Tecumseh Recycler won't stay running
I have the same mower and problem. Found out the issue was the carburetor. Pull the Carb and do a quick cleaning. Order the replacement kit prior to working on. My bowl o-ring was shot and I couldn't get a seal after cleaning it out.
Toro lawnmower appears flooded and won't start.
Actually all you have to do is take out the spark plug and pull the engine through several times. What has happened is the intake valve was open when you tipped the motor so when the fuel ran out of the carb into the engine it saturated the spark plug. You may have to by another spark plug to get it started or dry yours out very well. The main thing is to make sure that most of the liquid gas has exited the cylinder.
One more thing.... the float needle may have tilted a bit in the seat as a result of haging it tipped on its side. This is going to sound a bit strange BUT... grasp the handle and alternately bang the front and rear wheels on the ground a couple of times by lifting the back of the mower with the handle about 2 inches and drop it. Do the same by pressing down on the handle for the front tires. (2 inches and drop)
IT WORKS!
This should get you going. IF not just respond here and we can continue troubleshooting.

Toro Personal Pace Mower won't start w/ electric starter
There are a couple of things you can check;
First, check to make sure the bendix is engaging. It is the gear that meshes with the fly wheel.
If it is, then try and see how fast the motor is spinning. Don't look at the blade though. It could be a faulty starter motor.
Make sure to also check the battery voltage with a volt meter. It should read at 12.0 or higher.
Engine started leaking oil near the back of the engine and collects on deak
Hi, You need to clean the engine thoroughly with some Purple Power or Fantastic and a garden hose. Then run the engine for a short time and locate exactly where the oil is coming from on the engine. One place to pay close attention to is directly under the cylinder where the crankcase mates with the oil sump. Some engines have gaskets fail directly under the cylinder because A; there are no bolts securing the oil sump to the crankcase in that location and B; it is an area of very high heat. I am assuming this is a push mower and does not have overhead valves? If it does have OHV, keep an eye around the bottom of the valve cover. Lastly, the crankcase breather cover gasket or the rubber tube the goes from the breather to the air filter housing may have come off or it may be cracked. But first things first, you must get the engine clean to determine where the oil is coming from. After establishing the location of the leak, post back with the info and I will provide direction to make the repair.Kevin,Kevins Small Engine service,South Berwick ME. 03908
